I was in a rush when I posted, but this is exactly what I have been thinking. We have to name a final 25 man squad at the end of August (I think?). I'm not sure he's going to be in it at the rate we are buying players and given the fact he's unlikely to be in a position to push for a place until after the season has started.
He will in a fight to get his place back. Least the poor bloke probably won't get into midfield where he looked very uncomfortable.
Yes, the squad goes in at the end of the transfer window so 1st September it will be officially announced. Which means there is no restriction during the first month of the season; this is then repeated at the end of the January window.
Apparently they were all poor and the whole thing was quite controversial. Methinks had it been a Panama v Jamaica final, no one would have turned up! USA v Mexico was the dream ticket... I haven't seen it yet but one has to wonder....

Maybe it is just the training kit to avoid the Dundee Utd tangerine almost clash and the away kit hasn't been released yet?
A1, the away kit not being released less than 2 weeks before the season starts when a sample had to be with the PL no later than 4 weeks before the start of the season makes no sense.
Have to say its a very negative kit, not adventurous or symbolic for our return to the EPL. Am i alone in being dissapointed? leaves me no desire to go out and purchase it for my mini "Flittons." Agree has a strong link to the training kit, which is a little strange meaning it lacks its own individuality.
For the first time in over 40 years I saw our team play yesterday against Dundee Utd. The match lacked a competitive edge being a friendly and there will need to be a step up in sharpness and pace when we start playing for real. On balance we should have won but Dundee Utd deserved a goal so 2-1 would have been fairer to them. Everyone got a run out and I felt the new signings by enlarge looked very positive but they all need to develop a better understanding of each other, Vydra seemed frustrated at times not getting the expected pass. We defended well but we lacked a bit of penetration in attack, although Dundee seemed to be set up to defend with only 1 forward. The second half was a bit livelier than the first and the second half team after subs seemed to play a little better together. The new goalie was sharp and pulled off some good saves but he not keen on throwing the ball out, prefering to kick it up the pitch. Deeney & Abdi took knocks but they played on so hopefully all ok. I think we have a great squad now and there will be competition for places which is good and there is good cover for injuries or for resting players. There was about 300 hornets there, which the team acknowleged at the end. I wonder where they all came from and how many were Scottish based.
This is the kit they played in against Dundee Utd but whether it was the training kit or away kit I don't know. In some lights the black shirts looked a very very dark purple but I was probably halucinating as the sun (I think that is what it is called) was out.
I can't see that being the change strip. Our regular shorts and stockings are predominantly black as is a significant portion of the shirt. We'll probably wear red shorts at the likes of Southampton, Tottenham and Newcastle.
