Upshot of the first half... United 1 - 0 Barca From midfield going forward we've looked impressive but defensively anyone who thinks we don't need a CB seriously needs to have a rethink. It's not even in doubt for me after that 45 mins. I've enjoyed watching Depay - plays with the confidence of youth, picks his passes well and looks good going forward. But is he an AM / nmbr 10? I'm not convinced he is. Better off playing Mata there, Depay on the left and Young on the right. Darmian is definitely a wingback Shaw continues to disappoint but it is preseason so lets see.
Good workout so far, pretty good tempo for pre-season. Carrick is still the main man in midfield and it stands out a mile.
I think we need a leader mate. Someone to bring a bit of experience and organisation to that backline. I cant take this 'rabbit in headlights' stuff for another season
Unreal pace to this game from both teams but I think Barca have been quite clever in saving their energy in this heat for the last half hour. Really turning it up now fair play to them, this will be a good test for us.
Bear in mind that it is a friendly and therefore it means nothing. It's not like we're playing a Malaysian pub team.
One of the satisfying things about this game was watching Suarez play the opposition rather than play the game. Just tried too hard, threw his toys out of the pram too often, and fcked up every time as a result
Looks like it's going to finish 3-1 to United. A poor result when you take into account how well the Dippers did to draw with the Malaysian Random XI. Disappointing.
We officially won then? Does that make us the official greatest side in the Champions Cup? Officially. I feel weve been down this official route before? Unless that wasnt officially official?
Anyone know what cards mean in pre-season friendlies? Jones got a yellow tonight, does it count in the Premier league?
