I see a lot more of his posts than you, I also remember his "apology" from four years ago which was, "I must remember not to post when I'm pissed!" The then supermod, cyprussyd asked me if I wanted him banned!

    I declined the offer! <ok>

To be fair, though, he has acquitted himself pretty well over this Brady thing (to date, it's not done yet) in the face of some fairly severe goading and less than friendly responses ( yes, I'm guilty, too :emoticon-0111-blush)
I know nothing about four years ago - I didn't even realise the site had been going that long?

It was definitely after you joined and involved hoping Grant Holt's children would die!

Oh dear, getting very messy one here. I'm one who's not entirely sure about Brady. I don't think he'll be a flop by any means, but I think there may come a time when we ask why we spent £7m on him. That doesn't mean he isn't a good player, because I think he will be, but at £7m is 'good' enough. Will he sign a 4 year contract, or will it be another 2 year contract, or even worse one with escape clauses? I hope it's the former and that he dispels all of my doubts. Only time will tell.

There already has come a time where we're asking why we spent £8.5M on Rip van Winkel, it's always a gamble Rick

I'm even more concerned now. If we are now going to sacrifice further squad places for a LB and a 3rd keeper, why did we spend £7m on Brady? I thought Toffolo played a blinder today against a top 5 German side, so why do we need another LB? More importantly, where is the CB we need? Getting more than a little worried now. :emoticon-0120-doh:

There's a separate thread about how G Holt joined the club 6 years ago yesterday. One of the most astute (with hindsight, of course) signings NCFC has ever made. Ever. <applause>
To be fair, though, you can buy as many lottery tickets as you like, but you can't guarantee there'll be a jackpot winner among them.

At £500k, it wasn't the biggest gamble we've ever taken, but it was certainly one of the best!

That Paddy Davitt tweet doesn't make it clear that Brady isn't the LB signing in question, you'd have to presume that if it's 4 rather than 3 signings, a CB is the additional player. Backup keeper is slightly disappointing given Rudd's progress, as it'll be a squad spot gone.

Apparently WBA have bid £5m for Villa's Ciaran Clark. At that price I'd certainly be interested! Decent age, experienced and can cover LB. Suspect wages would be a problem for us, and unless Villa for some reason want him out, can't see him coming here.

Also, £7m seems massive, but the new TV deal has put transfer fees into orbit from this summer. I'd honestly be surprised if we sign anyone for less than £5m.

Mulumbu, for well, ...., but I take your point. I hope you're right about Brady covering the LB need but there was no mention of a LM need. Where are these 3-4 squad places to come from? I could see Turner leaving if a CB came in and perhaps Miquel going out on loan, but if no new CB comes in? Remi Matthews still counts as under 21 and yet he went out on loan. I'd have thought he would do as number 3 keeper. If another comes in senior to Rudd, it's a real kick in the teeth for Declan. All this seems to fly in the face of AN building a NCFC dynasty.

Would like to see Toffolo be our back up to left back. I think he's capable and allows us an extra spot in the squad. He reminds me of Drury before he got cropped for that period of time. Makes good decision when to go forward as well as good timing on his tackles. The lad has a fair bit of potential and has come on leaps and bounds in the past 12 months.

Makes you realise that player do get the opportunity to impress. Murphy's could do with looking at how well Toffolo has taken his chances and his loan spell to improve their chances. THey don't really seem to have progressed at all since youth cup win.

Really well said YellowLittle. He integrated himself very well whilst he was at Swindon and was a favourite with the fans and his teammates.
It would be great if at least one of our FA Youth Cup winning team. I'm slightly hopeful for Carlton Morris as well and time will tell (don't tell carrabuh though!!)

I'm starting to think of all our FA Youth Cup winning team Toffolo may be the one most likely to make it. The 2 Murphy's & Morris were slightly up the pecking order, but I think they suffered, because they were on the verge of the first team. I think all 3 would benefit from going out on loan and and getting regular football. It certainly seems to have done Toffolo some good.

<laugh> You certainly hold a grudge for a long time.

One poor post four years, for which I apologised at the time and you're still banging on about it.

    Soppy tart. <doh>

If you honestly believe it's only one poor post in four years than obviously all those wum posts were unintentional!

By the way, as I pointed out earlier, we're still waiting for an actual apology! <ok>

You got an apology at the time, which was graciously accepted by the good folk who post on here, from four years ago...
