I wouldn't be too harsh on Gomis, seeing as there have been no quotes from the club, manager, player or his agent reported there was no need for him to say anything. Other than the initial approach by them to us being reported there hasn't been anything else apart from speculation being printed. The club didn't feel the need to say he wan't for sale therefore no real reason for the player to say he didn't want to go. It isn't much difference from the reports of Ash leaving every transfer window from Arsenal to QPR and every other club in between. Never once did he say he wanted to stay probably because there wasn't much substance to it other than interst from the buying club.
Why should Gomis come out and make statements about his intent, no need to justify himself to anyone and the same goes for any player. Its a job of work and all players are entitled to their privacy. In all honesty he has nothing to clarify. As posted earlier Ash has been linked with a move away all summer but he's made no statement and rightly so. The club and the manager have made it perfectly clear that any players who dont want to play for the club will be moved on so one must adsume that all the squad are happy and contented.
But the difference is that Ash wasn't publicly touting himself for a transfer 7 months ago. I thought, with his track record here, he was off.
He does have history so I can understand the feelings of mistrust .He still has to prove himself and may never to the satisfaction of some .

No quotes from the club ?????? there have been a few quotes one being that monk will do all he can to resist gomis leaving......Nothing will satisfy me until i hear it from gomis himself saying he is not going anywhere.......Everything is strangely quiet from his camp and i dont trust anything until the window has closed and he is training with his team mates.....

Well I've watched the first half of the forest game, and he does not inspire confidence if we're going to rely him getting the goals.
I would say he is 80% staying and 20% going........The money is tempting but playing in the premiership could make him a house hold name and eventually earn him more money, I think he will stay myself....
The point I was making was that the club hadn't said he wasn't for sale so for the same reason he had no reason to say he wanted to stay. You said yourself the above quote wasnt definitive enough on Thursday and you wanted the club to come straight out and say Gomis is not for sale. That is what I was alluding to when saying no quotes from the club regarding not selling him
