Yes. It certainly wasn't down to any kind of shrewd vision from Levy. You nearly sold Bale to Birmingham because you thought he was ****
Nearly, apparently. But we didn't. In a couple of years we will have 'lucked out' with a few more players too.
Kane might be the next lucky windfall, but after that, it looks like Levy will have squeezed the last golden egg out of that knackered old Goose.
I very much doubt it. Alli, Bentaleb, Eriksen ( who we paid next to nothing for) Pritchard, and as you've mentioned Kane....I'm sure I could find more if you'd like?
Erikson maybe, and who the **** are the others ? You're not going to be mugging anybody off with nobodies like that.
Bentaleb is a real prospect, I expect him to come on further this season. I believe strongly that many top clubs will be after Alli in a couple of years, assuming he's given his head. Pritchard too, I believe has the ability to be very good striker. You would need to talk to Spurcat to get the real inside line, but there are apparently quite a few very good prospects in the youth sides.
You can't rely on potential alone to line Levy's pockets for the next round of 'piss it up the wall' though
This is the Mouser Watch thread, not the Spurs Watch thread. Thank you. What prospects do 'Pool have? Obviously, they got lucky with Suarez and Sterling, but it appears that all that good luck has been undone with the likes of Lambert, Sturridge (the Prem's new "sick note"), and that crazy one. Can't really see where the next windfall is coming from for Rodgers to spunk up the wall.
That's exactly the same problem you spuds have though. Once Levy has sold Kane, his shooter will have run out of juice.
Well you brought up unknows like Alli, Pritchard and god knows who else claiming that Levy would be able to sell them for Bale money. I think that's wishful thinking at best, some might call it totally deluded.
I have never said that any of them could be sold for Bale money - nobody else in the world has been, so far. And, as HIAG correctly pointed out, this is the Mouser watch, not the Spurs wartch. But then, every thread turns into the Spurs watch whenever you're around!
But you said that you might 'luck out' and sell them on for big money too, hence why we're having this discussion. As for this thread not being about Spurs, when a Spurs fan says 'What prospects do 'Pool have? Obviously, they got lucky with Suarez and Sterling, but it appears that all that good luck has been undone with the likes of Lambert, Sturridge (the Prem's new "sick note"), and that crazy one. Can't really see where the next windfall is coming from for Rodgers to spunk up the wall.' All you need to do is change Suarez and Sterling to Bale and Modric and replace Lambert, Sturridge with Soldado and Lamela and you've got exactly the same situation. Although I would have to agree that Liverpool are slightly better at spunking money up the wall, only just though ...
Most of the Dippers have convinced each other that Brenda has done good transfer business this summer. Then again they thought the same last summer. Benteke needs to score 30 goals next season!
I remember Raheem being the talisman last season - his face plastered on a certain graph iirc. Will the same happen to Benteke? Will we see him adorning a new line graph? And will it be the same kiss of death for him?
I actually think Benteke will do ok for them to the extent that he will be considered the best striker in the league by December. I'm not sure what his arrival means for Ings or Balotelli or Sturridge or Borini or Origi or Lambert though.
The golden hope now seems to be Coutinho. The Dippers have done well to hold onto him this summer given how much interest there was from Europe's elite clubs. I suspect it will be his image on the front of the season progress chart which is of course the precursor to a big money move next summer at which point he will be considered overrated.
Benteke will suffocate Sturridge in his sleep; the nurses will find him with the cardiograph flatlining in the medical room the following morning. Balotelli will gradually turn senile as he wastes away on the liverpool bench on what will in effect be a nice pension provided by LFC. Origi will be hyped as the next best thing, but like Pennant will eventually be sold to Birmingham FC for 5p and a packet of dry roasted peanuts. Lambert will become Rodgers latest lover. Brendan will boot out his current skank and Lambert will move in. Rodgers will have his teeth whitened for the occasion and both will draw lots on who's the giver and who's the receiver. Benteke wil go on to become a liverpool legend, second only to Emile Heskey. Henderson will learn to read and go on to write a book about it all, which will go on to be a best seller on merseyside. He'll call it "Are you saying are Christian is better lookin than are gran?"
