Well said. We can only wait and see what happens with Wilshere. Given the fact he is going to be a dad will hopefully help him along the process of becoming a proper role model off the pitch.
I truly doubt Wenger back then knew about the mates of a 18 year old reserve player. And Wenger had the final call on where he wanted Wilshere to go. And Owen Coyle made the best impression from the managers that wanted Wilshere.
You can get to 'know' your players as much as you like but some are hard to control. Even Fergie has found that out with Man Utd's best youth prospect (Ravel Morrison). But on a whole Arsene takes the more hands off approach to players privates lives. Although i have heard that he did have a word or two with Wilshere.
Trust me about this one, you're wrong. Bolton and Coyle were chosen for the reasons that you've given, but he was sent away from London to get him away from his mates.
And you know that how? Wilshere never got in any trouble pre his Bolton spell. He was just getting annoyed with the lack of playing time.
Ask amongst your own fans, SSN8. Wilshere may not have been arrested prior to turning 18, but Wenger was aware of the influence of his friends and attempted to reduce it by sending him away from them. Apparently it didn't work.
Never heard of this before, PNP. But it does make sense. And if true it did work. Because Jack never got into any trouble when he was in Bolton. The problems came since he came back to London after his loan spell. So yeah i suppose i can see why we never gave him to someone like West ham or Fulham.
Do you always seek pointless arguements? Not sure why you what i said to PNP. I always thought the loan move to Bolton was for him to play load of games. And if what PNP is saying is true then i can see why it was a good move by Wenger and co. As his loan move to Bolton not only made him a much better footballer but also kept him out of trouble.
Where the hell did i attempt to justify Wilshere's conduct in that post? I just told PNP why the Bolton loan was a good move. Move away from Arsenal? Wilshere will be with us for years and years. I have had enough of your utter BS. Bye.
Wherever he may be, he clearly needs a firm hand. So long as Wenger and Co. continue to tolerate his yobbish behaviour, or just plain "didn't see it", then he will continue to think that it's O.k. to carry on being a hooligan.
If Wilshere was a crap player who didn't play for Arsenal, then the bile that is this thread simply wouldn't exist.
aye, the young lad is a a little off the rails, but even pissed, he's still much better than anything the spuds have got to offer
And if Wilshere didn't play for Arsenal most Spurs fans wouldn't give a toss what he did in his free time.
Joey Barton is an average player, IMO, who doesn't play for Arsenal. I can give you my opinion of his behaviour, if you like. It's pretty much the same as my opinion of Wilshere's
