Well apparently we have never made a bid for him and SAF himself is distancing himself away from any possible deal.
I tend to believe what SAF says too and if he says there has been no bid you can believe there has been no bid.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14136334.stm Confirmed. NO DEAL. He won't join. Any more straw clutching guys?
Yeah I saw the article you wrote and was replying to it but when I tried to post, it was gone. So I shall just post it here. Yep when it is on BBC it is 95% sure to be true I am disappointed but it's not the end of the world. I believe that SAF most probably has his eye on someone we haven't thought of yet. I would be happy if, as someone said on another thread, we signed a proper DM and used Carrick in his natural role further up the pitch. I would also be happy enough to give Anderson a fair chance and start to bring in a few of the younger players for Carling Cup games.
So Fergie has said they have not approached Inter to sign the guy. Not a surprise to me, just the media always making quotes and stories up.
It was clear and very obvious that he was not going to join. Fans were getting exciting and were blinding the fact it was highly unlikely. The article was taken down probably due to this article being about but oh well. Anyways, I do believe we will sign someone, just not a world class/top player. I would be very happy if we went for a defensive mid as well because I have high hopes for Ando and he should get his chance.
You chat some bollocks Nohlman. You also change your opinion/view/mind about 12 times a second. Will Wes sign? I dont know, the papers don't know, SAF is well known to play games with the media aswell. No body knows except a handful of people involved in any deal...(if there is a deal). Should we trust the BBC? HELL NO! Should we trust SKY? HELL NO! Should we just wait and see? Yup! This common sense out burst was brought to you by Happy Shopper, cheap crap that puts a smile on your face* If smiling is prolonged seek medical help.
So should we not trust Ferguson as well. I am sorry but he is telling the truth. In what universe would the Glazers allow us to spend 35m and over 200k wages on a player who has started less than 29 games in the last 3 seasons each? A bit of realism is needed. Let us also add his age into the equation and his very poor injury record. I am sorry but there is a minimal chance we will sign him. I would give it a 1% chance.
£35million is just a reported fee. SAF tells the media what he wants them to know not what is the truth. He plays games with them and often uses it to his advantage. Truth and media don't go together. I will however point out that you, Nohlman Esq III, have never ever been right. read into that what you will.
I doubt he will sign now but the thought was nice. On the other hand if you were trying to sign a player like Sneijder would you come out and tell the media and alert Citeh and Chelsea to the fact that he is availble and cause a bidding war ? ( I know this is wishful thinking but I'm clinging on to it )
That's the same SAF who said he wouldn't sell Madrid a virus, right? My god, mind games in the transfer market? Whatever next...
Exactly Swarbs. SAF is a master at this sort of thing. In fact I dont really remember to many players we were after and Fergie coming out and saying 'yep, we want him, tell the world'.
Swarbs the situation was very, very different. This is also the same Ferguson who said we would not sign any significant players past July 13th 2009 and this proved true along with last year. Furthermore, with Ronaldo, he was begging to move and Real gave us an offer which was just great. Ronaldo wanted out and Utd knew that and so let him go. Wesley wants to stay and Inter don't want to sell and Utd don't want to pay such as high fee and wages. Therefore, no deal will be done.
People are reading too much into his comments. You are trying to find some sort of secret code. There is nothing hidden. His comments about us not looking at Sneidjer are as he says. He is stating the truth and is not playing mind games. This is the same type of talk we heard in 09 and 10 summer. I can understand the desperation for a top signing and I can understand how people want us to make a point and prove we can still buy the best. However, the club are not interested in signing a player with little growth and a poor injury record and crazy wages and a huge fee to make a point. Ferguson knows what he is doing, he will sign someone but someone who can grow in the club. I know you will say, what about Cleverly, Pogba, Morrison etc but Ferguson knows what he is doing.
I honestly cant beleive you go into so much detail about pretending to be a united fan, i find it utterly bizarre, credit to you! Maybe you have in fact realised that the giant sinking ship that is arsenal is no more, dead, buried, finished and have actually swtiched your allegences to the mighty champions
have to say i will be a bit gutted if we dont sign the bald dutch twat... caught offside have us linked with hamsik today but they usually spout utter bollocks anyway..
