http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/L...mpion-leader/story-27466059-detail/story.html ... apparently we ae scouting the globe - how's about we put forward a few sugestions? Here is mine: Wesley Sneijder - aged 31 Currently in the last year (I think) of his contract with Galatasaray who signed him for Euro 7.5 milion back in 2012-13 - a bid of between £5m and £7.5m - on a 3 year contract would do for me.
Be realistic mate - we would need to offer between £5-7.5m in wages to even get him to look for Leicester on a map.
... I'm not sure it would take quite that much ... but I'm also sure that our owners would be prepared to push the boat out to fulfill their ambitions ... they have publicly stated that they envisage investing circa £180m over 5 years (from promotion) in order to challenge for European places.. we're now in season 2! ... I also very much doubt that Cambiasso was being paid in cheese cobs, melton mowbray porkies and Everard's ale ...so, realistically, we are just looking at a differential on the contract that was on offer to Esteban ...
Would be a great signing but not going to happen. He has 4 years of his contract left and they don't want to sell apparently. Will be another wasted chase of a player. Happy that this is the type of quality we are searching the globe for though.
Just because we got someone of Cambiasso's ilk dont mean we will be able to get another one of simaliar stature in the game I think Ranieri will be scouting France and Italy
Someone (I don't know if it was here or FoxesTalk, might have been Proud now that I think about it) said that we don't need to sign a new Cambiasso because, lets be realistic about it, we pulled a miracle by getting him here. We need to sign a couple of Premier League standard midfielders, preferably at least one who can organise and lead the team.
The whispers from the camp suggest they want 'experience' - 'leadership' a 'champion' ... I think they will be looking for someone who has already established themselves 'a name' plus an emerging talent as well (we certainly need two midfield players if not three) ... in all honesty I have always rated Sneijder so my O/P is largely wishful thinking ... BUT ... I never thought to see anyone like Esteban Cambiasso in the royal blue shirt!!! ... so never say never ...
Huddlestone (yes he was crap last year but very good the year before, surely wants to leave for the premiership I'd guess, is English and the most 'similar' passer of the ball I can think of) and a real defensive minded CM to sit next to him and let him spread the passes - maybe Romeu but in reality probably someone unknown but I do think Huddlestone would make a good replacement
I don't think Huddlestone would be good for you, more often than not slows the play down when attacking.
