I was invited, with Mrs. A. to visit this part of the country last weekend, and I'd just like to say that it was blinking lovely . . . . largely thanks to our hosts, who we both think are really special people The estate is fantastic, with a lake full of fish, a stream running through the land, an indoor and an outdoor (heated) swimming pool, a tennis court, hens that produce a daily supply of eggs, greenhouses that are bigger than some of our dwellings, and wildlife that's a lovely distraction from the telly (watching squirrels, foxes, mice, deer, badgers (black & white bastards !) mainly when it gets dark, and birds, all feasting on our nuts, was blinking marvellous) We've been, a few times, to the south of France to visit the same 'salt of the earth' couple when they lived there, and we can't speak too highly about the way that they've looked after us, so I'd recommend that, if you receive an invite from these people, take advantage of their hospitality because you'll not be disappointed Anyway, that's our view of Farnham . . . . cheers, marra
Birds feasting on your nuts... Where in Farnham was this? I may have to visit Lovely place Farnham except that it's full of southerners!
Nice piece that mate and I can imagine you were both very well looked after by cracking hosts. Few and far between people like them..
It took blinking ages to get there (Tilford, where there seems to be loads of money) but it was worth it . . . . and we'll definitely return (sorry Mr. & Mrs. S.) as soon as we are able p.s. I suppose it is a bit, Comm., and I don't mean to be smug about it
Gordon stayed with the Smugs. What they got up to is no ones business but their own. Bet it involved keys and a fruit bowl.
I've met Mrs Smug, slightly intoxicated and believe me only the finest of fruit bowls would suffice Lovely people, the pair of them..
This article is mean't as an insight, to any 'doubters' out there, into how nice, and real, some people are
Like you, a lot of lads go back 10 years plus now and a lot have met each other and others have come into the fold since not606 and likewise have shared a beer pre-game. Like I said, I have met Mr & Mrs Smug and many others, it must be like 4 years now since me and Reg shared a beer so a lot of the people are real to each other. I got married last November, my best man was a lad off this forum and a few others attended and were invited who I knew could actually come to the bloody thing. Somb spent nearly an hour talking to me on the phone the night before and do you know what? I invited the people to my wedding who had actually shared and supported the **** and strife I have had the last 6 years looking after my severely disabled better half and our beautiful daughter.. My biggest regret was I should have had Billy there but next time I throw something similar , he's first on the list and Sandy will be on too..
I knew, via Smug, about your wedding, Joe (before and after) and, even though I've never met you (and you didn't mention me 'in despatches' on your 'NOT606' article) I consider you to be a great lad, and one that I'd like to meet in the future The power of forums like this has led to me meeting some blinking good lads, including one in particular from 'the dark side' and some that I've shared nights out with including some that came and supported my Charity Night (which seems to have been 'passed by' without much notice), so I appreciate the value of meeting places like this Sometimes we fall out, but in the main that's because of 'heat' and these are usually soon forgotten about and we just 'get on with things' p.s. Who's Sandy
Yeh I've met a few on here billy cest Marcus raw Jerry the jinks although I met raw at the matches from about 1997. I've also met lads and lasses from Syds site I would still like to meet many of you good people off this site in the future.
Yeh that's right mate there is a few on here that have met smug and his wife and they speak highly of them both.
