Got to be honest I'm most excited about Firmino, although I'm looking forward to the Belgian beast just swatting opponents to the ground

Now the interesting part is how Rodgers will get the best out of Coutinho, Firmino and Benteke simultaneously due to the clear contrast in styles.

Also, I really hope Rodgers uses Gomez and Ilori this season - two talented players that need proper experience. Show some balls and play a young back line.

Finally - time to make Anfield a cauldron again. Teams need to be beaten before they step out on the pitch.

Yes I think it has to be treb we already have at least 5/6 players who need to haul ass , we currently have 7 strikers

And I can't believe your backing Benteke when I was about to moan about us signing him <grr> :grin:

Jokes aside, I agree he deserves the chance now we've signed him. One thing we have agreed on for a long time JS is the lack of proper physicallity in the team so I guess it's fair to say Benteke will bring a bit of that to the table. Another player who has a big price tag to live up to but these things aren't decided by us so we have to roll with it and see what the lad can do.

Well it's unlikely we are forking out similar+ money for anyone else (despite the silly Reus rumours) so it'll have to be. Wouldn't mind the Digne rumour to be true.

As usual it all depends who hits the ground running and how they all gel!

At least benteke won't be scoring 10 goals against us this season. Bet Skrtel is happy

Thoughts on another DM? In case Can is injured or if Clyne gets injured and Rodgers moves Can to RB. All that has a knock on effect on Henderson's role as he gets anchored. Unless you think Lucas or Allen are enough?

Got our man then. Although who's man he actually is remains a mystery :huh:

For me he's far from the best and most appropriate player we could've bought in that price bracket... but what he has is Premier League experience which is valuable in itself, so there's no adaptation period like we've had with so many overseas signings recently. He's more than a 'big man', he's got strength, power, a bit of pace and likes the ball played on the floor or in the air. Plus he will cause defences problems with those attributes. If he reproduces the form he showed at Villa in their last 12 games we're laughing but we don't know how he'll handle the change and step up or whether that was just a one-off.

Have a strong feeling Balotelli will still be at the club when the window shuts <doh><doh>
