Makes you wonder why McLean didn't do anything when England played Ireland recently? There was an ideal chance to show how much he loathed GSTQ then. Looks like he was saving it for some tuppenny halfpenny game where hardly anyone would notice.
The more I think about it the more the faux outrage about it seems pathetic. Who did Albion think the were signing? Prince Harry?
Personally I don't give a monkey's **** that he dissed GSTQ, I can't stand the tune, it's a dirge, I also despise the content. Fair ****s to him for having the balls to show his contempt for the Monarchy in a roundabout way.
I like the fact that half the people so up in arms about it are the same ones who would more than likely think nothing of booing someone else's anthem or having a go at them as they come from another country. And as for the "why doesn't he **** off back to his own country?" brigade
Dan I tried to link a couple of articles earlier but to no avail. It's ridiculous, One guy reporter said he was glad that a footballer had a mind of his own as usually they have it drummed out of them. A guy out of the Telegraph nailed it, Brian Reade from the mirror called it good too. Google James McClean and the articles are there. I can't do it cos I'm a spastic
Kirk "The Eggman" Broadfoot has just been handed a ten game ban by the English FA for sectarian abuse towards McLean.
