I don't own any DVD's all on hard drives nowadays fella. My kids don't own any CD's they just use Spotify.
Just use Spotify and iTunes and youtube and souncloud mostly nowadays for music Finished first series of Black Sails... was decent enough for me to start on the second one 6.5 - 7/10 sort of stuff... enough action and hot titty displays to keep you coming back, some of the acting is good, some of it ropey, the locations and sets look nice but the CGI stuff is clumsy at times but that doesn't bother you too much, plot isn't very urgent and tends to meander but it does move along enough eventually, some characters stand out more (usually due to quality of acting / hotness of female actor) some are so thin they'd blow over in the lightest Caribbean breeze
Think I'm going to give that one a miss. Really like Mad Men so far but Bod days it goes downhill after S1 but it's good enough for me to carry on at the moment I'm about half way through S1.
something in general i've looked forward to. casino royal was very good. quantum was not so much, the last one was good. this one should be quite good ithink. worth seeing on the big screen.
the addion of tyrell lannister as the new m or whatever looks to be an excellent addition. i think he'd be brilliant. stuffed shirt.. harsh. but the villian... whats the movie i am thinking he was in where he was the villan? total ham hock.. i'm going to struggle not to think of him as that caricature in this,.... i think he was in inglorious bastards... that was really bad, he wasn't the worst in that though.... He was in django unchained... funny moive that... very good. no it was the green hornet...he was blooody awful in it... but then so was the whole movie
Christoph Waltz is the baddy... think he looks great in the part, a throwback to villains of Bonds past, a lot of whom weren't exactly free of ham. And actually Javier Bardem in Skyfall was pretty hammy. Yeah CW was the Nazi Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds which was a superb performance in a superb film
So I watched the first ep of 'Black Sails', seem to me that this is Starz replacement for Spartacus. Similar style, similar action and boobs obviously. I look forward to seeing where it goes.
Very much like Spartacus yeah and also like Vikings which was a history channel show I think. Black Sails is really good for what it is, it's self-knowing as well, realises it's not top notch drama and is just a bit of fluff and nonsense - swashbuckling, treachery, power struggles and fit prossies getting their tits out mostly (not complaining there) - but retains your interest. In short stick with it, it gets better actually. Have finished both series now.
I reckon the writers would have had lots of ideas when writing TWD but couldn't use them because they didn't want to deviate from the comics too much. Therefore, I think all those ideas will be in FTWD.
Mad Men is up there as some of the best TV made yet. If you expect it to stay the same as the first season or second one then that's the wrong way of thinking and a path to disappointment. It moves with the decades and reflects social, cultural and historic change. Characters are very transient and just disappear without explanation. But that's part of the point... It's anything but formulaic and I think amongst some on here there is a resistance and unfair negativity to stuff that doesn't do formula sometimes.
