    I'm not sure about Welliton. Jo did well in Russia then came to England and was rubbish!

    This would be acceptable. All hinges on Shola taking the step down though, could hold things up a bit.

    so by your reckoning we should only buy proven prem players
    was tiote proven?
    just because one didn't cut it (mainly to lack of games and injuries) doesn't follow that another won't
    buying any player who hasn't played in this league is a massive risk but for every Jo there is a tiote

    I really believe that the only budget for players now will be self generating at best. It's seems Pardews excuses for not spending are getting louder and louder which is a worry.
    I also have a very strong feeling that we will sell another of our top players at the death....

    I am hoping we go for Nolan Roux, it would be a bit of a risk but he seems a very good prospect and I think Brest are quoting 7 million for him so he would be affordable.

    Only 20 years old... Yes hes French and he could come for £3.5 million!! Bargain to be had?

    Only thing is i believe another team (toulouse maybe?) has dibs because of a buyout clause in his loan, but they may not have the funds. I'd say hes worth a punt.

    Got him on FIFA, he was class. Unproven though, but would be decent as a back-up to Ba.
