We have seen the threads on who we think will finish top 6, however I also wonder who we think will struggle this year (of course i dont think WE will) so i implore all to post who they think will finish in the bottom 6 this year and who they think will go down. i see Doncaster, Barnsley, Peterboro, Palace, Coventry and Derby may well be down there (it was a tough call between Darby/Pompey there) and i think Peterboro, Doncaster and Coventry may fall through the trap door this year. thoughts???
Hmmm you know what I have no idea just can't wait for the season, got the renewal now just can't wait till Leeds.
I think Doncaster will just about survive as O'Driscoll is an experienced operator. I have a feeling Bristol City may struggle along with Coventry. However, Barnsley (new manager little funds), Peterborough (tight budget) and Crystal Palace (narrowly escaped the last two years) are the ones most in peril. Personally I think there are a lot of average teams in the Championship so it could be tight. I think Cardiff and Forest may not do as well as people expect next season.
Totally agree with this. I don't think the likes of Leeds, Reading, Hull, Burnley and possibly Birmingham & Leicester will live up to expectations either. I reckon Middlesbrough, Ipswich and Bristol City are the ones people should be watching out for.
A lot of people saying Doncaster, but after looking at their squad I think they should be okay. I have Billy Sharp and James Coppinger in my Fantasy League team as well, so I'm hoping they do well. I can definitely see Palace and Coventry struggling, but other than that it's pretty hard to call.
I can see Posh struggling this season, Crystal Palace have been courting relegation to the past couple of seasons and I see not reason why they will improve much. Doncaster will be in the bottom mix too. Coventry are another team on the side. The Skates managed to turn the season around towards the backend of last season, but their squad is even more depleted than last season. My final choice is Bristol City; although they have Maynard, they do not appear to have much else and I think he will be gone during the mid season transfer window if he does not sign a contract beforehand.
It's a difficult one this - the league is so hard to predict correctly. At the start of last season I would never have put Sheffield United and Preston North End in the bottom three and also Norwich in an automatic promotion spot. Just goes to show that anything can happen in this league!
it does seem there is a consensus among us that teams like coventry, derby, pompey etc are teams on the slide - these are often the teams that fall into there as their squad strength weakens and their money to replace runs dry (i thought preston would last year and was proved right - but not sheff utd!). i mentioned it was a tough decision between derby and pompey and the skates could well face a battle as they were in the thick of it at one point last season, and then pulled clear - however they have lost quite a few decent players and not replaced them with anyone of note so they could well slide too. of course im sure we all know there is usually a team that gets involved that no-one sees coming, i saw people mention cardiff and with their squad changes might not be a bad shout!
Coventry Watford Peterborough and others flirting with the relegation zone: Crystal Palace Millwall Barnsley
Interested as to why people think Bristol City will struggle? We only had Maynard for the last 12 games.. Scoring goals isn't our problem, keeping them out is. Happy to be down as relegation fodder though, last time that happened we got to the play off final =D Think the following are in for a nasty season; Watford - lost Graham Barnsley Coventry - lost King, Westwood and Gunnarson Palace Millwall - Lost Morisson Posh - Lost CMS Will be the first time I've been to St Mary's, looking forward to it! Good luck for the season!
No way will Brizzle struggle this year. So many teams have worse squads then them. We always seem to struggle at Ashton Gate.
