Honestly not suggesting that, just pointing out that I'm not. For what it is worth I think Glory might be right but the keywords are "think" and "might".

Josh Redfearn stated he took the job and had it written into his terms that he was solely responsible for selection. Why the need for that? Most managers and coaches pick the team so this indicates previous ones for us weren't.

The other thing to remember here is during Redfearns stint Cellino was banned from owning us <ok>

I know. But in fairness you wind me up too.
But at the end of the day I would still buy you a beer (even if you wouldn't drink it).

But Darko played different players to Hockaday. Redfearn was in control for the majority of the season as well so its fair to say if he did it would've only been during Hockaday's stint (even then its unlikely as the likes of Ajose played during that). So for the majority of last season we KNOW that he wasn't involved with picking players, Darko's stint it is unlikely and Hockaday's stint there really isn't any evidence either for or against. Seems like we can put this one to bed.

Was about to mention that - anyone remember exactly when Cellino was banned? Redfearn only dropped the foreigners (Bianchi, Antenucci, Adryan, Doukara, not sure if I've missed anyone..?) and that ridiculous diamond formation at the start of January following that horrendous run of form. The exact date of Cellino's ban eludes my memory but I'd be interested to know whether Redders' decision to drop the foreigners more or less coincides with this.

Not about to start another 'was Redders good or bad' debate, it's been done to death and I think we all unanimously agree he was the wrong man, but judging from what (admittedly little) we've seen of pre-season so far, I'd say we'd be lucky to finish 15th again.

Not sure of the Cellino dates, but it certainly correlates to Thompson's influence taking a grip. Odd how he didn't last, eh?

Probably because Thompson, whatever his other failings, knew how to coach a defence. Completely mystifies me that professional footballing defenders need to be coached 24/7 on how to defend. As soon as Thompson went we were shambolic at the back again! Let's just hope the new coaches can get the best out of the group, because they're going to need to.
