Wasp man here ... electricians coming in tomorrow to re-wire the house and yesterday afternoon I notice a lot of wasps sneaking in a hole under my roof tiles... sure enough they are nesting in the loft.
No need for a specialist. Wait till the evening when they are less active and bung plenty of Nippon ant powder where they are landing. If you can't reach it then long pole (fishing rod, etc) with a paper bag of powder on the end. Burst the bag so there's powder where they land. Almost overnight the colony will die out as they walk it into the nest. Vin
Thanks. That's basically what the bloke did (although I didn't know any powder would do the trick). He blast a load of it into the hole and said they walk it into the nest and then the Queen gets it. I'm now wiser for next time, but £40 worse off.
Sounds impressive! I don't have the stamina for that 6 or 7 months of growing is the longest I've gone. I usually keep it somewhere between stubble and baby beard. Shampoo and condition. It gets looked after better then the hair on my head
Oh no, it's a short and regularly trimmed one. No more than 3 weeks growth, then trimmed down to long stubble.
My beard sounds similar to yours although I bet mine has more grey in it. this fashion for beards was a godsend for a lazy shaver like me and now I've had it for a couple of years, my wife won't let me shave it off
Don't have wasps here on the Island much. After a very bad winter a while back killed them off, I might get one wasp in the house every summer....haven't seen one this year. Ryde has a few more....think it's all those ice creams. I would have expected them to recover by now, but no sign of it.
It's odd isn't it. I've not seen a wasp in Brighton this year, though I suspect I could if I really looked - they certainly don't seem as prevalent at the moment though. I guess their habitat might be more rural, but no idea. No great loss mind you....
Scarcely see a wasp for 10-12 years. Apparently they are very valuable in keeping greenfly numbers down (when they are feeding their larvae), but haven't noticed any increase in those at the same time.
May be as well, but wasps feed their young on greenfly (blackfly as well probably) and their larvae reward them by secreting food for them to eat. When the larvae no longer do this, wasps seek out sweet food from humans....which is why wasps are more of a nuisance at the end of summer than at the beginning.
I`ve no problem with James McClean not wearing a poppy, or not facing the Union flag like he did for WBA yesterday, if he has strong, well founded beliefs. His beliefs however seem to stop short of him pissing off and playing somewhere else where he isn`t faced with these dilemmas. But wait, the hypocrite won`t get paid so much elsewhere. Ar$ehole.
So the Portsmouth Ladies meeting thing was postponed. I'm going to give it til next Friday and if I don't hear anything by then, I will resign. It'll give me great pleasure to send a ranting resignation e-mail to Mick Williams, and let three years of bullshit explode in one satisfying rant.
I wouldn't bother PL, as he could just glance at it in his inbox, and click delete without it ever impinging on his consciousness. Or if he's anything like me, he'll chuckle first whilst shaking his head, mutter something disparaging about you, and then click delete. You'll just be wasting your time and energy that you could be spending on a new project
