So... Where is good to go for free live music/ comedy etc...in fact where do the locals go rather than the camera wielding ****s that flock there every year? I am up there taking Edinburgh based clients out on the piss in appx 4 weeks and need to get a steer so don't too much like a complete ****, which is hard enough in itself. Many thanks NB - I will be googling any reccomendations made by the usual suspects, you know who you are
Are we talking about STD's receding hairline. Everything in Edinburgh is ****. Apart from the road to Livingston.
Free music: Forest Cafe Henry's Cellar Bar Bannermans (sometimes) Whistlebinkies They're all pretty central. Go online and have a look at the fringe guide. I would highly recommend Antonio Forcione who's playing the Assembly Rooms. ps There's also loads of free shows on the top half of the Royal Mile throughout the festival.
1 out of 3...a better ratio than I was expecting Antonio Forcione - Saw him on the site to be fair and he's on the night I'm up...gutted Andy McKee is only playing one night at the begining
Get to the M8 and turn left heading to Glasgow and follow the signs to Coatbridge. Pop into a local drinking establishment but be sure to wear an England top, it`s quite amusing.
I was serious about the "Find a Scotsman" bounty (Doesn't count if they sound English but claim to be Scottish)
The Ladyboys of Bangkok are good fun. I literally bumped into them one night when leaving the Cameo cinema at Tollcross and found myself surrounded by a bunch of Thai transsexuals. Good times!
Most of the nice fanny is from England and further afield. Lots of foreign students from Spain, France, Italy etc. during the summer so if you want to risk the "is she old enough?" they're always worth a try
