I think your confused. Football didnt start 4 years ago either, which was originally your basis for claiming spurs always finish top 6. Of course this couldn't be further from the truth. I always deal in PL terms as that is what we are in now. I am more than happy to discuss United and Spurs from year dot though as its massively stacked in my clubs favour. You can pick any period of time and it's a familiar story.
My original basis was a decade...last time i checked that was 10 years not 4! And at no point did i say we always finish in the top 6. your basis was every season ever...last time i checked that doesn't mean from 1992/3 onwards. Prior to the prem united won 7 titles, 7 fa cups, 1 European Cup, 1 uefa cup winners cup and 1 league cup. prior to the prem spurs won 2 titles, 8 fa cups, 1 uefa cup winners cup, 2 uefa cups and 2 league cups... thats 5 more titles won by united...1 less european trophy, 1 less league cup and 1 less fa cup... not quite as massive as you suggest prior to the prem era
According to wiki, since we entered the league in 1908 we have failed to finish in the top 7 in 60 seasons. I included the old first division and premier league in it. I did not include the WW1 and WW2 years as the football was regionally based so the league tables were not comparable but when we were in the old division 2 I included those as failing to finish in the top 7. I only counted man utds finishes from 1908 too (you were a league club from 1892) and followed the same rules as applied to spurs. Unitedhad 41 seasons finishing outside the top 7...this means the difference is the prem yrs ... kind of blows your assertions apart Guess i really do not have a life after all
Most pundits are predicting Liverpool to finish fifth, sensibly enough. For the second consecutive year, after all, they lost their best player and went on a spending spree. Since that worked so well for them last year, and us the year before, it is reasonable to expect improvement.
We currently have Kane. Soldado and Adebayor 3 international strikers OK we want rid of both Adebayor and to a lesser extent Soldado, but Adebayors goal scoring record in the premier league is significantly better than Hernandez so thats those two matched up (and they may both move on) I am not going to compare Kane with Rooney yet, but they are currently the main strikers for our clubs. Wilson has barely played and personally I would take Soldado over him every day of the week. Depay has never played in the premier league and he is not really a striker,so I would say that if you can include him then we can include Chadli amongst our options. I expect that you will sign at least one more and I hope that we will too, but whoever signs for either club its always a risk
Some of us were only surprised with how quickly Kane has established himself as a top striker, not the fact that he has reached that level. Wilson's got a long way to go to show he's not just pace. The ones who rely on pace fall away quickly enough, like Bent, Welbeck and even Torres. If we're talking about players that could make it, watch this space with Pritchard.

What is the point in taking data back more than 5 years when predicting this? We had Hoddle in the 70s, Greaves in the 60s. Neither have any influence on how we'll do next season. Similarly the players we had 6-7 years ago. The best data for predicting next season is the most recent data. That puts us at 5th or thereabouts.
The last two seasons we have started as we mean to continue. 13/14 - rampaging start through to second place, 13/14, piss poor start, limping to 6th. I think I'll have a pretty good feeling of where we will finish after the first month or so: As much as everyone goes on about players "settling in" you basically know if a player has what it takes (apart from real youngsters) pretty early on when they start for a club. 80% of me says we'll finish 6th again, with BR getting axed after the season. 20% says the new players will just click, and we'll finish third, with a good run in EL.

If we get fourth and win the EL I'll hail you as a genius. Hell, if we get fourth or win the EL, I'll hail you as a genius.
I'm a late predictor but I know for certain the following 1. Man Utd won't win the league 2. We won't finish top four 3. Newcastle won't be relegated. 4. The goons won't win the league 5. Aguero will be top scorer 6. At least one of the promoted teams will be relegated 7. West Brom will keep at least 10 clean sheets I have a feeling Dick Advocaat will walk out of the Sunderland job when they struggle this season and he would be my bet for first manager to resign.
