Did okay as a left winger in the CL final.
If he can play at Left mid in a CL final against a team of Bayerns quality and do well, then he can play there against anyone <ok>

He played as a left midfielder in one game and in effect a second left back to double up on Robben.

Surely we need a more attacking left sided player there these days such as Hazard!!

We loaned some left winger Brazilian kid called Nathan to Vitesse aswell.
Not sure what he is like.
But we will never know, since he will never wear a Chelsea kit. :p

Yes, Traore looks good. He could play right wing more so than Betrand if that's what CP meant.
Nathan is a left winger I think, he could be Haza's understudy one day.
Be good to have an option on the right besides Willian, maybe we should give Quad a chance though

Yeah I think many are writing him off a little early tbh.
He has had only half a season with us, and hardly any game time, adapting to a new league.
Am happy to keep him on another season and see if he can cut it.

    Honestly, i doubt he will.

What worried me was how he was getting bullied off the ball and 5hitting out of tackles. I havent seen a winger so bad at chelsea for a long time.

Yeah I know that, my point is that we bought Luis when we had Bertrand. I know which one I would rather have. Seems to me we buy often when we have excellent players we let go. Quad hopefully will come good, but Salah has already done so, as has de Bruyen as did Matic. I think there is a lingering love of big names v great promise.

    Cannot argue with this.
We let some promising youngsters go in the last few years (for whatever reason, be it their fault or Chelsea's), Lukaku, De Bruyne, Matic, Bertrand, Thorgan Hazard,
luckily we bought Matic back, at an inflated price.
But still, those are some good players there that we have let go, and this is just in the last 3-4 years.

Out of those the only one we maybe should have kept was De bruyne.

We sold Lukaku and got Costa.

Benfica developed Matic for us (at a price)

Bertrand is good enough for first team football and too good to be Azpi's understudy.

Don't wish to steal Bodankis thunder, but I think the point he is trying to make is the same as mine, we let all these great young players go without giving them a proper chance. And Bertrand we let go even after seeing how good he could be ! Now we have Jose saying we need a left back , Hello !!! When players join us from abroad it is a cast iron fact that most need a season to adapt. The kids get 10 mins as a sub maybe three times then, whoosh they're gone on loan for "experience" often to foreign teams, of questionable quality, where they get bugger all PL experience.
I do realise it is a very difficult task to identify which of the "10 promising players" will make the grade, and mistakes will happen, but when Chelsea show more faith in young talent, I am certain the rewards will come. If I had a talented youngster in my family, I would be pointing him towards the Bundesliga or Spain, they appreciate young talent, and they play them. De Bruyen to City for 60 mill? Pass the sick bag please Bodanki.

    Hear what you are saying.
We should have kept Matic out on loan rather than flogged him.
When he arrived in 2009 he was never going to break into the title-winning midfield of Essien Ballack and Lamps.
Pleased De Bruyne has done well, he is a good player but Jose did not like him.
I rate Bertrand but he is nowhere near as good as Azpi, and too good to be an understudy maybe?

    Indeed CP.
And other **** like having to have Moses back when we flogged Thorgan Hazard.
    Again...hellooooo!!
Thorgan would have been perfect as back up.
    De Bruyne too.

You cannot say Thorgan wouldnt have been as good as Moses in that role.
Moses is not a very good player imo.
Thorgan is still a kid, he could have played up there with his brother and picked up some great experience, then we could have kept him on or flogged him for twice the price next season.
Instead he never makes a single appearance for us and we just sell him on <grr>
Lukaku I can give Chelsea a pass on.
His reasons for leaving were of his own making, Jose wanted him to stay but he wasn't prepared to step up and show us what he was made of, instead he has gone to Everton and is now being lazy.

EDIT: I put Leicester instead of Everton, not sure why <doh>

    Now there's a plan !!!!
In all seriousness, if Jose is really intending to stay long term and not a few years as he has done all his career, then I can't see how he can avoid changing ideas on bringing through Academy players. With anew stadium in the pipeline, even RA will be disinclined to keep putting his hand in his pocket for star players.
