Our sun doesn't have enough mass to go supernova. I think the rest is correct.

In a very secret place there is a big push button marked "End of the World", there is a big sign saying "Do Not Push", eventually a drunken bloke will stumble into the secret place by accident and being drunk will push the button to see what happens.........

It currently doesn't, but once it expands into a red giant its mass increases exponentially. I am pretty sure that most stars can eventually become red giants and go supernova. Our sun is still relatively young so is a tiny speck compared to other stars.

Going to agree with General Lee here. Our star is tiny in comparison to other stars. It will expand but then it will shrink to a white dwarf.

The sun can't just gain mass..by expansion ...its the same mass just expanded

Red giants are mainly a thick gas..sun will not go supernova. .but end up a brown dwarf...(I think...its a really boring star ...The classic, average ish star, ....about the most interestingly, different from the normal about it is its a single star and not a binary plus type star system)

For end of the world stuff...a local supernova woukdnt be fun...

And the big one ..A gamma ray burst anywhere within the milky way and pointing at us ..bad news for life on earth..The planet itself won't mind though

I think Beetlegeuse is fairly close by in intestella terms and is due to pop any day now by astronomic timescales (so any time in the next million years).

I called a white dwarf so he still stands corrected the bit about being engulfed by the sun was correct though but we'll all (humans) probably of ****ed things up long before then

Before I look like an arrogant prick, I actually put a smiley after the stand corrected comment, don't know why it didn't show up?

A virus (and above a naturally mutating virus ....The biological defence industry)..They be the ones that are plotting against us, and will no doubt have the last laugh

Or coronal mass ejections (CME). The earth's magnetic field does a pretty good job of shielding us (just at times)..but a big enough sun fart in our direction. ...

No one's addressed the fact the the world won't end ...whether by nuclear, bee, supernova, asteroid, pushing the bottom marked do not push, rape fire and mutilation ...apocalypse (think I covered the most popular, hoped for ones)

The world will carry on just fine no matter what. .its just our living environment we or the event will have ****ed up..But the world doesn't give a toss about that ...another species will have a pop at top dog (my money's on squirrels)

I expect a Parallax type situation where our worlds life force is absorbed and then we are ended by some unknown super villain. Ryan Reynolds may or may not save us.

Either a fast mutating virus or a heavily resistant super bacteria. Well get about 80% of the world population.
