Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has emphasised the scale of the work manager Uwe Rosler has put in since arriving at the club, as he spoke to BBC Radio Leeds. Rosler has only been at the club for two months, but Cooper has described that every member of the squad knows his role with the return of the Championship now just over three weeks away. Cooper has also suggested that he feels the squad competition in the current squad, can only mean positive things with the players pushing each other intensely in key areas. “The manager has only been here for two months but the lads know now what their roles and responsibilities are and that’s a credit to the gaffer,” he told BBC Radio Leeds. “He’s told us and made it clear how he wants us to play, we’re going to be very attacking – It’s always good to know there’s someone chomping at the bit for your position, it pushes you on and it pushes other players on as well so it can only be for the best.” Clear direction is important It is encouraging that Rosler has sold his vision and ideology very quickly to the players, along with ensuring that every player knows how he’s going to fit into the jigsaw. There is always a worry for a new manager moving to a football club, that he’s going to struggle and take an extended period of time to settle in. That’s something that Rosler appears to have been proactive in avoiding, which gives the team a better chance of getting off to a positive start. Squad competition in all areas It’s also encouraging that there is competition for places in all areas of the football club, which is down to the positive job Rosler has done alongside the recruiters at the club. Different options is also important because there are going to be periods in the season where injuries and suspensions accumulate and the boss needs players, good players, who can step in and fill the void.

Not quite sure what you'e on about / what you're on, TC (delete if inapplicable). Yes, we all knew he was a defender, and yes, we all knew that he had a lot to learn. Hopefully all of our squad is capable of learning, no matter how experienced they are. Perhaps you would be better utilised if you turn your attention to Millwall. Going by their performances last year, they seemed to confuse team positions with being a spectator. Pity you don't get prizes for being good spectators on the field - you'd have swept the board!

It can also be to support the midfield and attack,and not that many do it right,but having seen your losers you already know that.lol
I thought the role of a striker was to 'strike', ie to propel the ball in the general direction on the opposing team's net. Something that seemed not to have happened too often with our 'strikers' last season. Maybe no-one told them, eh?
