    'Everton can match Reds this season'
    Leon Osman has been talking to the media over in Singapore, and has had some interesting things to say about the Liverpool/Everton rivalry this season.
    In fact, he reckons the Blues can finish above the Reds, despite Liverpool's hefty transfer spending this summer.
    "Are we still confident of matching Liverpool? Absolutely," he said.
    "In the last four seasons we have finished above them twice and that is our aim every year. It is in the back of our minds, it is not the number one priority but there is good competition within the city.
    "Evertonians expect it, but people from outside the city see us as underdogs. It is a race that will be very competitive.
    "It doesn't worry us [Liverpool's spending]. We have our pride, our self-belief. We will not be looking at where we finish until the end but, come the end of the season, if we're above them, we'll be pleased."

    Who is going to have the upper hand Liverpool or Everton?

    Exactly. A player that they've already had (a usual Everton tactic) and a player that is below avergae at best.

    With Stones* going to Chelsea soon (possibly January) and Barkley being the forgotten child, I see them finishing mid table.

    *not that I personally see how the hell he is worth 20mil+. I may be missing something though as I don't see him play too much, but he doesn't look like a stand out defender at all imo from what I have seen.

    True. But Suarez going and Sturridge having a season's holiday at the hospital royally ****ed us. Not an excuse though as we were very poor.

    We've made some promising signings though, unlike yourselves!!
