Since this thread is technically about movies, I think this might be the proper place to post this trailer for a film that looks like it could be pretty good, called The Revenant. Looks like Leo is after the Oscar once more. The man deserves one.
Here's another one that looks like it could be ace - Legend, a film about the Krays with Tom Hardy playing both of them.
It's been discussed. I didn't want to clutter the board up with more threads and since this one is on movies and had been taken off of that topic somewhat I thought it made the most sense.
From all the concept art, actors signing up etc it looks like it will either kick the series off again in a big way, or completely tank it into oblivion. Besides brining back dead characters by discounting some of the movies it appears that there will be combat mechs, alien xynomorph armor, android soldiers, Ripleys death as well as a new giant South Korean corporation to rival the British/Japanese one everyone is familiar with. A lot of that falls in with the books and comics but it's going to be a big change from what people have seen before so it's going to take a great script and some great directing to pull it off.
Yea it looks good, it's been a long time since we have had a proper mountain man movie. I don't think it will be huge as westerns don't do well outside the U.S. and I doubt anyone outside of the U.S. has ever even heard of this guy.
Maybe, they are always saying that what killed the western was movie companies desire for big box office numbers in Asia and the terrible ticket sales westerns pick up there. I think it will be huge in the U.S. for sure.
