Pope; Barnes, Fox, Lennon, Bauer; Charles-Cook, Cousins, Ba, Gudmundsson; Watt, Makienok

Subs: Dmitrovic, Thomas, Obileye, Muldoon, Harriott, Ahearne-Grant, Umerah, Kennedy

We are very thin in midfield, with Charles-Cook starting and only Muldoon on the bench.

At least Billy and AllHell cannot complain we are not giving the youngsters a chance.

Should point out Holmes-Dennis looked the best player on the pitch after replacing wiggins. Small in height, but big physique. Not sure of the guy who played ahead of him, but thought he was poor and was disappointed THD wasn't able to get on the ball more from left back.

Also, JJ going to the tea bar with what looked like £200 in £20 notes drew eyebrows. Think he got his drink for free when leaving 10 mins before FT:

1-0 to Sant T at HT

Dmitrovic, Ahearne-Grant, Pigott and Kennedy have all come on for Pope, Gudmundsson, Ba and Makienok.

We have well-balanced team now. Four strikers with only Cousins and Charles-Cook in midfield.

Take the positives from the tour like RD being there to see us lose twice and better players really are needed. Luzon is not stupid he'll already know who won't be around his side next season after this tour. Ask Genk and St. Truiden for a return match at he Valley in 2 months time and you'll see a totally different outcome.

I'm not saying Crystal Skull is a great film, but it's still a far more enjoyable romp than LC.

Connery is predictably dreadful (yes, Kish, honestly), and I can never understand why people rave about him as Bond - Craig and Moore are far superior.

So stick that up your hornpipe!

I agree with you, I think Daniel Craig is the best bond, but to Last Cruisade was good. It's the one I put the last, but still by a million miles better than Crystal Skull.

Shia Lebouf acting as George of the Jungle? The nuclear bomb and fridge incident, and giant ants? All stupid and totally not what an Indy movie is about.

I watched Connery in a brilliant film called The Offence, he was a 70s detective who had beaten a suspect to death. Fantastic.

But yes he's not the best Bond; he was wearing a toupee the whole time.

I see your point. You want reality: ghosts of knights; supernatural religious powers; falling from a plane whilst clinging to an inflatable dinghy...

    From NESN on Yahoo:

Joe Gomez needed less than two weeks to win over Brendan Rodgers. Rodgers said Friday that Gomez, 18, will play for Liverpool in 2015-16, instead of joining another team on loan, as some expected. Rodgers revealed his plans for Gomez at his press conference following Liverpool’s 2-1 win over the Brisbane Roar in the second game of its 2015 preseason tour.

“He’s staying,” Rodgers said, according to LFCTour.com. “I’ve seen enough in this period in which you judge young players. I always bring them in and over preseason and have a good idea of whether we’re going to keep them or not. “Seeing him, in particular close at hand and his personality –- he’ll be staying, he’ll get games.

Gomez joined Liverpool from Charlton Athletic at the beginning of this month in a transfer worth a reported £3.5 million ($5.5 million). Gomez already had demonstrated some versatility in his rookie season with Charlton, but his ability to play across the back line has emerged this preseason during Liverpool’s training camp and in exhibition games. “He’s only 18 years of age, but seeing him play at left-back for the first time, he looked an outstanding athlete and a really good footballer,” Rodgers said. “I’ve seen him at centre-half and at right-back, but I wanted to see him at left-back — and I thought he was outstanding.”

Gomez’s long-term future probably lies at center back, but he might not play ahead of the likes of Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho. However, Liverpool will compete in four competitions in 2015-16, giving Gomez a number of chances to appear in meaningful games. Rodgers expects Gomez to impress wherever he plays. “Gomez has played there (center back) a lot of his career,” Rodgers said. “We took him in from Charlton where he played as a centre-half as a two, played in a back three and he’s also played as a right-back, so he’s got all the tools to play across the back four. You saw him tonight play at left-back – he’s a big talent.” Time is on Gomez’s side in terms of his career, but he’s wasting none at LFC.

I think someone posted exactly that here. That once they saw him in action they would not be sending him out.

Unless Lovren pulls his finger out, Gomez could supplant him in the pecking order.
