You will finish top 7 as always. You might threaten to break into the top 4 but as always, it will fade away.

Of course we dont know all the ins and outs yet. Predictions are subject to change.

Top seven? We always finish in the top six. You seem to have confused us with you.

Also, fourth always fades away for us except for two years in the last six.

Finally, the only predictions that are subject to change are bad ones.

    Not to nitpick.

Are we only taking the last few seasons into account? Top 7 was being kind, you've finished outside of it on many occasions. With the added competition from Saints and Swansea, there's no guarantee you will finish within it.

You effectively have one striker capable pf scoring enough goals to keep you competitive. I dont think your signings so far spell trouble for those around you.

And predictions are only based on tge information at hand. That information is subject to change. If we took Kane off you for example, I may have to changemy prediction for Spurs to 15th-10th.

We can take as many or as few seasons into account as we want. We can go back as far as you finishing seventh the year before last, us being a mid-table team not so long ago, you getting relegated in 1974, or any other point.

There’s still time to put a hefty wager on it!

So you're going to challenge for the title with how many strikers, again?

Oh yeah and we've finished outside the top7 less times than you've finished outside the top 2, yet that's where you're predicting your side to finish. Recent history is always more relevent though and we've finished top 7 comfortably plenty of times recently.

Southampton and Swansea? Good sides but we've seen plenty of sides from lower down the league threaten to challenge us and then return back down the table either by the end of the season or the following season. I don't fancy Southampton repeating the trick twice, it's tough to keep losing your best players and they're doing it for the second season in a row, seemingly without much fight too.

    5th, 6th, 5th, 4th, 5th, 4th are our league finishes going back to 2009/10 season.
Before that it was 8th, 11th, 5th and 5th going back to 2005/06 season.
So we have finished outside the top 6 twice a decade...hardly many times and hardly just a few years.

    As for taking kane... <laugh>

Very selective with you years here. Lets just include PL years. Or every season ever. Probably doesnt change much.

Didnt say we would be getting Kane, just what if? Soldado <laugh>? you dont exactly have a long list of quality strikers do you?

Nobody challenges for a top 7 position. Its not a prize.

Weve got 3 strikers and a player who is capable of playing as a wide forward or a CF. So 4 with another almost certain to come in (after van Gaals comments). No problems in attacking numbers.

Chelsea had 1.5 striker last season plus an ancient Drogba. They did pretty well if a little boring.

For the record we have finished out side the top 2 on very few occasions. I suspect you've finished outside the top 7 more. I haven't checked though so dont hold me too it.

I haven't been selective at all...the stats for the last decade show you are wrong...spurs do often finish outside the top 6...it has only happened twice in the past 10 yrs which doesn't constitute it as being a thing that often happens.

I know you said "if" regarding kane and i think that <laugh> was the appropriate response

You have chosen your strongest period in history to talk about your top 2 finishes and one of our most rubbish periods since the 1950s...1992 until 2005 was awful for us...
United are obviously way ahead of us in the premier league era but this season is bigger for you than us...you are expected to do very well we are expected to come top 6...personally I think you stumbled to 4th last season, were humiliated in the league cup and only played 41 or 42 games and a repeat this year will not be acceptable

So you have 3 strikers but so do we. Which do you think will score enough to put you in the title race? Chadli score one less goal than Rooney last season ffs and Wilson has done anything note worthy whilst Hernandez wants out.

I don't get the bit about Chelsea only having 1.5 strikers, they clearly had 3, they just only start one and those "1.5" strikers still outscored your 4 comfortably.

We're also likely to sign a striker or 2 before the end of the window, for the record.

You're just going around in circles and contradicting yourself. One minute you're talking about current squads, then you're talking about strikers potentially coming in. Then you're saying we only have one good striker followed by Chelsea only needing 1.5 to win the league. Bizarre.

You are suggesting that united have finished outside the top 2 in the league fewer times than spurs have finished outside the top 7? In our entire league history?
I may not have much of a life but I have enough of one not to have the time to waste checking that out

We have Rooney, Hernandez, Wilson and Depay as strikers. We will be adding to that list too as confirmed by out manager.

Rooney will get 10-15 without trying (or playing as a striker), Hernandez is good for 10 goals given enough game time. Wilson is still young amd won't be the difference.

Be interesting to see who we bring in though. The above probably wont win us a title but with Depay and our new striker, who knows.

Januzaj played up front last night and has been playing as a striker in the reserves for anothet option, albeit last ditch.

Kane aside, i think every one of ours os better that what you have. I honestly dont know who your strikers are beyond Kane and I doubt anyone else does either.

Your last paragraph suggests you think you could win the league. You wont, ever. You dont compare to Chelsea who while having limited striker options, happened tp have Eden Hazard amongst their ranks. Hes pretty damn good and more than enough to compensate for their weak front line.

Also, you may not have noticed due to a lack of real quality signings on Spurs part but it is the summer transfer window. This means discussions on squads in likely to include potential signings as well as current options.

I dont think us and yourselves will be battling for position to be honest. You will be dueling with Liverpool and co while we fight at the top end. I wouldn't worry yourself too much, you will finish top 7 as you usually do.

Its not too hard to figure Uniteds put in PL terms (which is what we are talking). 17 top two finishes. Im no expert but I suspect you've finished outside the top 7 a little more.

I'd rather play with no strikers than Wilson <laugh>

If you're going to take Van Gaal's word for it that you're getting a striker in then fine, but take Hernandez's numerous quotes saying he doesn't want to be a backup player too.

Tell you what, lets revisit this during the season, since you're getting a bit carried away with what your squad's capable of. There's nothing like getting the season underway for levelling out expectations.

Strange things happen in football. Who was Harry Kane a year ago? Just another Wilson. As I said, hes unlikely to be the difference but who knows.

Hernandez is quoted as saying he wants to be at United and feels theres a role for him. He is right, van Gaal also confirmed this during a recent presser.

But yes, lets revisit later. <ok>
