What happened to the allegedly 3 interested parties? I remember one apparently dropping out when we were relegated, but what about the other 2. Maybe that's were the Allams are negotiating the sale of the club, the name change is rejected and we've spent no money, no budgets set and the Allams have gone missing.
Would anyone buy us in our present financial state? Unless Allams wrote of the debt it would cost someone a minimum of 100 million to buy us, the Allams would probably want a nice profit so maybe 125 million for a club that doesn't even own it's stadium? There would probably be cheaper options out there.
All this "wait until Thursday" is a bit odd. Does this mean that Brady and N'Doye can't be sold until the Allams return from holiday? Maybe they are pissed off with Bruce for publicly criticising the sale of Tom Ince? Furthermore, they must surely be aware of Bruce's interview with Burnsey talking about him threatening to walk if they are not ambitious enough? Something tells me Bruce will be sacked at the Board meeting on Thursday (rather than walk).
I hope not, we'll end up with megson or dowie etc because no decent manager would touch us with a barge pole
why not Phelan - people almost seem to have forgotten about him - he cant do any worse than Bruce has over the last 18 months
Barmby was sacked for less. They've not let criticism go before have they? I remember earlier on the name change saga, Bruce seemed to suggest that perhaps the owners didn't understand why a club's heritage would be so important to supporters - a week later, he was toeing the party line much more again. A word had clearly been had. I wouldn't put it past them to sack him, I think they're capable of a lot of destructive things, but I expect it more to be along the lines of "Raise this money from sales, and we'll back you with 'x' amount thereafter". And if the numbers aren't appealing to Bruce, we may see a schism.
Barmby didn't have the same relationship or respect that Brucie, rightly, has with them. If he thinks he can mount a serious promotion push, he'll stay, if he doesn't think he can, he'll leave. No conspiracies. No board room lost. No bad feelings. It's just how things are. Also quite rightly, the Allams are evaluating what they wish to do after the FA decision. This really shouldn't come as a surprise. They had a vision and a desire to achieve something a certain way. Owning a club, especially one like ours, is not a money making machine. The bollocks we read about the PL money, usually spouted by those moaning about the destruction and defiling of the game is misleading. It's obviously going to help, but running a club takes more than a hand out after relegation. They've already invested a huge amount of personal money and time into our club, promotion is not a dead cert, nothing is. The championship is a great league imo, but it's also bloody hard. Why would they want to gamble their own money, in the millions? I'm sure they'll make a sensible risk based decision, but anyone insulting them for whatever they do decide is clearly deluded. This is not FIFA Manager, or whatever that game's called. This is real life with real money, of the type barely any on here will ever see let alone own. Some of you wanted the club to carry on the way it's always done throughout it's history. Depending on what the Allams decide, you may get your wish.
please log in to view this image you really are an idiot - the Allams have doubled the debt (at least) - lost 6000 fans - we're no better off in the League from when they took over - their customers are divided and they're constantly in the press for the wrong reasons - there is no wonder that they are constantly being voted in the list of football's worst owners
there is no wonder that they are constantly being voted in the list of football's worst ownersowners
Out of curiosity, do you have links to these constant votes? All I can recall is one persons opinion in a mediocre blog.
There is no way Steve Bruce will leave, he has a contract and that is money and he won't give up money. He will wait until he is sacked, although he might force a sacking. With the nationals reporting Brady, Chester, Davies & Dawson having to be sold it does make you wonder what we are going to have in what 20 days time?
