Brilliant interview from Brucey. Just shows all this squealing on here about the club should do this or that with players. The club and Brucey are powerless, the players hold all the power. There's a buyout clause on contracts, these players want to leave as quite sensibly the club have put 40-50% wage reductions in their contracts.
The Allams are away. Bruce has a meeting with them on Thursday. They'll discuss the name change stuff, the budget for players etc. Bruce said if there is no ambition he would have to review his position. He wants to reduce the age of the squad and sign younger hungry players.
There's a board meeting when the Allams get back from their holiday on Thursday, at which Bruce will find out what funds he's got.
Obviously the players agents as insurance against the pay cut. Its the only way they would agree to it.
The bit about him 'considering his position' if we're not going to mount a serious promotion challenge was interesting.
It's a bit late in the day to not even know what your transfer budget is, its like the club's in a state of paralysis.
I thought the wage reduction if relegated clause was the motivation not to get relegated. And of course they now want to leave.
Exactly. Lets hope there's enough want to be here and fight, to correct the **** up they made last year.
