I'd say they are all much better than Evans! I'm not saying he's terrible, just very average and Jones and Smalling are much better than him. If he had 2-3 years left on his contract then £10m maybe, but with only 1 year left...
You should be! He's one of the worst centre backs in the division. A horrendous first touch, no composure, not a great passer of the ball or tackler and not commanding at all. Would be Silvestre MK II. We should be steering well clear.
I definitely agree with the last bit. What I meant by not terrible is that he'd do a job for a bottom 8 side in the Prem. Not that he'd be ok for us. Even the rumour he was going to sign for us was enough to make me shiver! I still don't know why Everton are trying to sign him, or why they'd want to pay £8m for him! But I think he'd do well for other sides who aren't aiming at Europe or the top half of the table.
Evans is nowhere near good enough to play for Arsenal. He's not even good enough for Man Utd, so there's no way he would make it at Arsenal
He's English, plays for Manunited, played regularly for Manunited, has a few EPL winners under his belt, . If he was French or some other nationality, it'd be something like 2.5-3 million.
That is a shocking turn of events from a captain of a team - from "I'm signing a new long term contract to show my commitment in Jan" (but ohh by the way I've included a £8m by out clause), to "I'm off, don't talk to me" then about turning to saying "I'm never leaving the club, I'm looking forward to captaining the side in the new season", to a few days later signing for another club! Villa fans ain't going to be his best friend...
Probably didn't like to see one of their better players being sold off, the start of a slippery slope when a team is struggling.
How much do you want to bet City upped his pay even more just out of desperation to fill the English quota? I think it could turn out to be a good move, but let's see how Pellegrini utilises him and how he copes with the step up. City could have got someone better than Delph, but as I said before: with Fernando and Fernandinho both being very average last season, he's in with a good shout of getting into the side.
It's funny coz they could have gotten someone much better than Delph, and if they'd actually bothered investing in their youth then they could have saved the £50m they spent on Sterling as they would have had someone much better in Sturridge!
