Its easier to judge a player once they've played for us than one who never has as they are trained differently and in different set up. Benteke might flop flop absokutely but to completely wrote him off as you have done is stupid as you don't know how he's going to adapt. If you, I or anyone else here knew then we wouldn't be typing on here, we'd be managing football clubs. My opinion is no more right than yours, but what is right is that you can't judge a player and wrote him off before he's kicked a ball. Everyone thought Torres would score at Chelsea, that veron would succeed at United but they didn't. Some players just don't perform at certain clubs but until given the chance, no one knows for sure.
True, but the contract probably States release clause is 32m straight up so if villa play hardball then we have no option. And bs when I say straight up, I mean guaranteed 32m not 25m with 7m in add insult etc. the 32m will be paid over course of initial contract even if it is a release clause
Why didn't Torres score at Chelsea? Again, the system didn't suit him. They acted like he was Drogba and kept hte same system. Which is why when some fans think that because Benteke scored a few goals at Villa and it's transferable to LFC. But you're right - he may or may not succeed. None of us know. Every signing is a risk - but it's about mitigating that risk as much as possible. Signing a player with an average record at a midtable club isn't mitigating that risk.
Because he was shot, his speed gone. Now he has gone back to the team that taught him he is no better.
I am sure Villa wants or two of our players.. but would not discuss it until Benteke's matter is settled. Smart Tim.
Is that like "give us what you have left from the Sterling sale once the loyalty bonus etc are paid then make the rest up when you manage to sell some3one else"?
