In your opinion maybe, but there are a few Spurs players who haven't exactly led a whiter than white existence on the social scene either. This article is a poor cheap shot really. Nothing more. But in footballing terms, Wilshere is a class act and I've no doubt, that if you were really honest with yourself, you'd jump at the chance to have him in the Spurs team.
And Ledley King punching a bouncer in the face and then racially abusing him doesn't bring shame to your club? Get real Ensil, there are a few Spurs players that have brought plenty of Shame on themselves and the club. None of them are as good footballers as Wilshere though
I know this could be seen as madness, I'd rather have Jenas than Wilshire. At least Jenas behaves himself.
I don't think Wilshere is even that good, certainly not as good as all the hype surrounding him. As I have already said, he's not the type of player we need, or want. He's nothing more than a nasty liitle thug, who if he wasn't kicking a ball around, would almost certainly be kicking a can around the excercise yard at Wormwood scrubs. He would do well to remember what my old grandad said to me the next morning, after I'd come home pissed, and a bit lairy one night, when I was a teenager. The next morning, he said, "I'll give you some advice, boy. If you can't drink without making a **** out of yourself - then don't drink"
Any 18 year old that can force his way into the starting XI of a top 4 club and his national team is a very good player. You'd have to be foolish, ignorant or both not to see that. Wilshere's footballing talent is clear to see, I would defy anyone who contests that. It does concern me that he seems to have an unsavoury edge to his personal life, but hopefully it's something he'll grow out of. (after all, can any of us say that we don't regret some of the things we did when we were 18 and drunk?) But the point is, that this article is a poor cheap shot. There are a few Spurs players that are well documented as having brought shame and embarrassment to themselves and their club, so to single out Wilshere, when he was actually talking about loyalty to his club, not only smacks of hypocrisy, but is also a wayward attempt to run down a player simply because he plays for Arsenal. It doesn't show the spurs fans on this board in a very good light in my opinion.
TBH saying Spurs fans aren't being shown in a good light is kind of hypocritical when you have United States, Sirtfireball and Viva Vela Wilshere at this point in time is someone who has potential but is a long way off realising it, and is a coward who starts trouble and then hides behind friends
It certainly doesn't show you in a good light to criticise articles as poor, and a cheap shot - and then proceed to produce your own poor cheap shot, is ironic, to say the least. The POINT is that Wilshere now has a consistent record of thuggish drunken behaviour. He now seems to be increasingly out of control, and yet your club seemingly does nothing. Maybe those kind of yobbish antics are acceptable to Wenger and co, because he certainly "won't have seen it" To try and reclaim some sort of moral high ground by saying that some Spurs players have misbehaved on occasion, is just laughable. They all do occasionally - Wilshere's behaviour is consistent.
Firstly, this article is a cheap shot. Why even bring up Wilshere's off field antics? When he was talking about club loyalty? Unless it's designed as cheap shot at Wilshere? It's totally transparent. Secondly, to so do, when your own players have been guilty of the same offences, just smacks of hypocrisy. Thirdly, to try and fabricate a meaningless rant about one of our players, suggests to me that it's based on a partisan bias and has nothing to do with footballing talent whatsoever This is why I said that it shows some spurs fans in a poor light, it's an observation, not a cheap shot, which this article is.
If you allowed debate on your board without deleting & editing posts every time you lose a point or letting your mental thugs vent their bitterness at every post that shows them as wrong, you would have less problems? Give it a try some time or resign and let someone with a brain try doing your job
if you don't like it why come on our board,to have a go about our players, then get upset when we come on your board
You spout so much total bollocks, that it's hard to have any kind of rational arguement. If you cannot understand the difference between the words "occasional" and "persistant", then please buy a proper dictionary, and look it up. No way would the management of our club tolerate Wilshere's constant yobbish antics. If yours choses too - so be it As for hypocrisy, as the song says "before you accuse me, take a look at yourself"
I'm sorry Piskie, but you're so obviously wrong about this one that it's hard to believe that you're serious. The article itself doesn't mention anything about Wilshere's antics. I took it to be a thread highlighting the hypocrisy of his stance on your players' possible loyalties compared to what he said about Modric. Several people have commented on his behaviour, but that's only to be expected when he's using phrases like 'real man' to describe players, when he doesn't appear to know what one is. As for many of us acting like twats when we're drunk and 18, I'd agree, but I doubt that many of us had been cautioned twice by the police or spat at any taxi drivers. He's a prick, frankly, regardless of any footballing ability that he might have.
That's your opinion, you're entitled to it. Mine is that Wilshere's comment about club loyalty being turned into a rant about him being a 'thug' (whether the OP intended that or not) is a cheap shot.
He must have done something to be voted as the best young player in England and 2nd best in Europe. Wilshere as a footballer is very unique for a player from these shores. Wilshere has 2 assets that is outstanding. He can not only pass his way out of tight spaces but also can dribble out of it. Wilshere vs Barcelona was very interesting. Too see a player of his age being able to cope against the famous Barcelona pressing was remarkable. Fabregas who was alongside him was made to look like the 19 year old in his first proper season. As for off the field well he is clearly a bit of prick at times as someone said. Also depsite his on the field intelligence, he does seem a bit stupid off it. You can only hope he will learn fast and avoid repeating his mistakes. Saying that he also does decent things off the ptich. On twitter he is always in touch and spreading the word of a very ill kid called Jack Marshall. Went to meet him and the boy's mum thanked Wilshere for his efforts in spreading the word of their charity. None of us here know Wilshere personally so to say what he is really like is impossible.
Not really. What he did off the pitch last season did not stop him getting voted as the best young player in England for example. His off the field antics does not diminish the point that he is an outstanding technical player.
