Doubt the bloke gives a **** about whether or not he could have become and Arsenal legend. In ten years he'll be admiring his bank balance and a league winner's medal, maybe another In Turkey. Doubt he'd swap it for a couple of FA cups and lots of people in North London and Hertfordshire thinking he's a really great bloke.
In ten years time he'll be a old washed up has been, eating half eaten doner kebabs from the side of the road and playing for some second rate outfit in Turkey Oh wait ......
He'll probably be living on a beach somewhere or in one of the nicest suburbs of Amsterdam. The point is players don't give a **** about clubs except in very rare cases. Sometimes it's worked out for Arsenal sometimes it hasn't. He was an excellent player for you when fit and you got a very good fee for him to move on and achieve things he probably wouldn't have otherwise, much as you did with the other players mentioned in this thread. I just don't get why Arsenal fans feel this need to obsess about their very good players who move on and win trophies. Good players leave every club at some point unless you're at the very, very top. It would be like Southampton fans fawning over their ex-players who have gone on to win trophies at Arsenal.
It's a forum, mate. If you want happy-clappy pro-Arsenal opinion on every thread there's probably a place for it albeit a boring one.
Nothing against negative comments posts, just have an issue with posts that only seem to have an intent to wind up people or start arguments.
Problem is, on this board, what winds people up and starts arguments, seems to be anything that isn't a 100% Pro Arsenal arse licking Palooza.
Watford is a wum, who has only started recently posting on here and everything he posts is negative and seems designed to start arguments - these last posts maybe excepted. Cini is prob the most negative poster ever, yet widely accepted and everyone has good debates with him. There's loads of negative posters on here - good on them! Though ToledoTrumpton got hounded off the board for being too positive! There's a big difference from being a negative fan and a WUM though...
Watford is not a WUM by any stretch of the imagination. I have had this same discussion with touchy people on the Chelsea board. He says facts, sometimes sprinkled with a little QPR bias, something we are all guilty of (with our respective clubs), but never have I got the impression he is making posts with the sole intent of pissing people off and starting arguments.
I'm really not. I've said good things about Arsenal on here. For example saying Cech was a great signing. Somehow that was construed negatively because people jumped on me saying I didn't rate Seaman as highly as others.
