Won't Jeremy "friend of Hamas" Corbyn persuade you? http://www.newstatesman.com/politic...yn-course-come-top-labour-leadership-election
Not back yet, but with Internet. Back tomorrow. It's been lovely but actually slightly unbearably hot - between 35 and 38 degrees in the day, and 30 at night. My friend's house has no air-con either, so as you can imagine, sleep has been at a premium...
Yeah, too short though (the break, and Jordy, not me). That oppressive heat does mean it's hard to do too much, but have been doing a lot of cafe sitting in the shade with good books and phone off, which was desperately needed. Went over to the Monument De Morts as well as recommended which was pretty impressive and quite moving.
Yeah, people think you're having a right old moan if you're saying "it's been too hot" whilst on holiday, but it really has. I can't wait for the tepid drizzle of England to be honest!
I pity the next Labour leader if(when) Boris wins the Tory leadership. He'll get the sack for losing, but like William Hague, he never really had a chance anyway.
Osborne will be the front runner if the economy continues to 'improve'. He is closest to my politics, but has a lot of baggage in his past (militant tendency; middle east 'friends'), and obviously he won't win a general election. I'm not the kind of person that needs convincing - it's the voters they need to win back that do. And there's alot of them.
After a few days I have opened the parcel containing my new Sky box and read the instructions. Could certainly change all the cables, but one look at 'set up' and I knew it was time to call in a little man to do it for me. Asked me if my router was compatible ....as I have no idea what a router is (and don't want to know), time for that phone call. Technology should consist of boxes you just plug in....I never needed to know how a radio, TV or fridge worked, so why can't they get to the stage where everything is compatible and it makes its own connections and never asks the human anything.
I am with you in this Fran. They can beam pictures round the world to a little box in the corner of my room; you'd think they could get another box that could just beam stuff to the first box as soon as it's plugged in.
Try coming on holiday to Scotland! We've had one day of good sun (took the "Hogwarts Express" that day but the rest of the time has been cool, cloudy or, like today, coming down in stair rods .......... Beautifully green around here though!!
We got a new TV last week. Got the TV working but set up also wanted connection to the wifi (router ). Still have no idea how most of it works but at least I can watch TV! The manual is on the TV so you have to try to find that first and then try to work out where to find what you are looking for. Too complicated
