No, you're right in the first instance in that we wouldn't (or shouldn't) pay £30m for Giroud, though I totally rate the guy.

    I'm in a positive mood tonight...check..this morning..

I believe we now have a mobile midfield all of which will be able to score goals rather than constantly worry about doing another half job behind them.

I believe we have an attacking creative front that can create and score its share of goals that will now have a constant link with the midfield rather than be asked to somehow get back to defend as that midfield and the FB stand watching on the halfway line.

I believe we have pacy young strikers that if they aren't relied on to lead the line will buck in some goals as subs.

I believe we have a top class striker who although injury prone, if he's managed, not rushed back can and has scored 20+ goals a season.

We have a keeper who now has to up his game, at least a little more than previously because of his competition this year.

We have a defence that should have learned a thing or two about each other last year.

We have a new coaching team that have individually impressed in their sphere so far and might challenge BR with new ideas in an environment where he's no longer so cock sure.

We have a manager who had an idea about building a squad and despite getting carried away with a world class striking phenomenon is back to build a team rather than players to support a genius...and possibly learned a little humility after last years bloody nose.

What do I think we need for it to make it work?

Another striker that will score 15-20 goals a season, particularly one that can do it when it's an ugly game.

A DM with vision and legs so Can can develop without pressure.

Hate to admit it but Benteke over 3 seasons looks like he could be the first requirement even if the price makes me cry like a little girl.

Don't think we'll get the second so hope Lucas can pull it out one more year to be an option to Can.

    Woohooo! Bring it on! :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Well the buys are a quantum leap better than the ****e we bought last year, even if they're not the ones I myself would have gone for. Will they be enough to get into the top four? Hmmm. Should wrestle fifth from Spurs though. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

    Ye of no faith.

I have the feeling that our direct competitor would be the mancs again . Yes we fell off in the last few matches but it was nip and tuck throughout the season. Fourth is achievable as we swap places with them. <ok>

According to Thierry Henry who thought Liverpool were nearly to win the league in 2013/2014?.It's going to be a
very tough competition this season. Do not underrate any one.

Benteke costs more than Costa who got 30+ goals, winning the league and nearly the CL before he signed for Chelsea <laugh>
