If we'd signed Messi and people were complaining you'd have a point but it's not, it's Kaboul. He's a decent player but there are question marks over his injury record and he's barely done anything for the last three years. I'm personally not arsed about his (agents) comments years ago but I do think buying him is a gamble if we're relying on him heavily. We seem to have a pretty strict medical test so if he passes that with flying colours it'll put my mind at rest a bit.
About the Kaboul signing? I think it's a cracking addition, well thought out signing at a snip. So what do you think?
Injury prone defender who has a bit of class about him if kept fit. That's the key. Don't think he has played many games over the last few years but that's the gamble. If it works, you'll all be grinning from ear to ear.
No issues with Kaboul's ability, I simply can't stop looking past the fact he's played 21 premier league games in the last 3 seasons. At the very least he's going to need a season to get back/close to his best.
I like the price, he's a good age and if we're getting the Kaboul of a few years ago then we've got a good player on our hands. I'm just not sure if that's what we're going to get because 21 games in 3 years isn't a lot and I've not seen much of him recently.
Totally agree. He's a quality player, no doubt in that. He's going to give our backline the much needed pace we've missed for years, but his injury record cannot be ignored! With massively injury proned players like Brown, Jones,Rodwell and Giaccerini in our squad I think we have a right as fans to be sceptical. As far as his past comments go, I'm prepared to forgive and forget now he's in the red and white stripes. We hadn't been back in the Prem long when they were made.
So do you think the club would sign a crock? They need to take insurance and the rest. £3.5 mill is a lot of money.

I don't think we'd sign a crock as for one thing he wouldn't pass a medical but even injury prone players have periods where they're injury free and can comfortably pass a medical, only to potentially get injured a few games into the season. Rodwell for example, we signed him knowing his record and he's been out once or twice in the short time we've had him. If that happens to Kaboul then we'll be turning to the likes of O'Shea and Brown once again.
