    Ponder,

Would you say you're an historian or an antiquarian?

BTW, if you are Peter Ackroyd...

"Hawksmoor" was ok, "English Music" was utter pish. The latter stopped me reading your works.

    Both. In equal measure.

I hate it when folk use 'an' before history.

Do you indeed. Is it not proper to use it so?

"English Music" was pish. A complete flop. An utter disgrace. A palpable failure.

I know plenty of folk who use it so, but, in my opinion, it's horrid in every way.

Would you say 'thyme is an herb'?

    I'm 36.

I would say thyme is a herb. An historian is a ****er. The vagaries of the English language, eh?

So we can rule out Peter Ackroyd assuming you're telling the truth about your age.

    Ponder,

Do you write historical fact or fiction based on historical events?

I'm suddenly so excited because Ponder might be a burd :bandit:

I was born and raised on a council estate in Thamesmead - I could never be a Tristram. <laugh>

    I'm not a burd.

    Tony Robinson: historian. <laugh>

I write both fact and fiction - but not always historical, I must add.

Anyway, it is all imaginary, thus rendering your quest futile.

Tony Robinson has done more for historical awareness than Ponders could ever hope to. FACT.

It was good while it lasted, G.

The poor grammar and lack of knowledge must have been a giveaway, surely?

    Historical awareness, yes. Historian, no.

I'm quite happy with my lot, G - even if it's all in my mind.

Tony is a fine writer and comedy actor, but he is no historian. In fact, I'll ask him if he considers himself to be a historian...

    I guarantee he'll say he isn't.
