I haven't thrown anything at Dick matey? Congleton is an amateur in a multi million pound industry IMO and way out of his depth.

The bar being set low is the clubs fault not mine BTW. If you think everything so far is a plus then that's fine. I don't and until I see real improvements in the quality of players actually signed, I firmly believe it's another struggle ahead.

No I don't, I deal in facts not pessimistic guesswork and half truths.

Stoke have just lost their best 2 players but you hold them up as how we should be dealing with transfers.

In recent years I've been to Wembley with Sunderland, seen 4 of our last 5 derby wins & watched Newcastle relegated.

In that time what have Newcastle won, how many times have Stoke won trophies, how recently were Palace & West Ham in the 2nd division?

West Brom, Newcastle, Palace & Arsenal have all had fewer signings and there's weeks left in the window.

But don't let that stop you getting your whinge in while there's still time eh?

A major signing, at a good price and without any long drawn out negotiations ........... just like Cest demands.

Whinge or just reality. You keep dealing in those fairy tales. I'll keep sticking to the real world.

Funny how the pessimists, who said we'd be relegated for the past two seasons, still believe their reality is better than mine <laugh>

Thing is mate, everything is smoke and mirrors at the moment. We have only made one signing at the moment and desperately need more (CB, LB and ST really). You just have to ride it out and hope for the best. As fans, it is all we can do!

I understand your pessimism though. I share it, with NUFC instead!

I guess our opinions on what constitutes a 'major' signing differs somewhat then. He was playing against Sacramento in the Mickey Mouse leagues of North America, not Arsenal and we lost BTW.

I'm confused Cest. How is the club setting the bar low?

Are you suggesting that Dick isn't signing the players he wants but accepting who Congers buys for him?

Whatever you say, tbh I just can't be arsed with endless miseries, on the board, these days ...... knock yersel out.

The board has been quite upbeat & positive recently and everyone has been getting on to a great degree.

If your Sunderland knocking is what you want then I'll just leave you to it.

To be fair Cest, in 2012 he did a cracking job on both Messi and Pedro, ask any Celtic fan, he was outstanding. I've not read a single Celtic fan have a bad word about his ability. I think he'll prove you wrong as he's a cracking player.

I can't believe this is the same Cest that gave me an arse rip a few seasons ago telling us if MON won the next 3 games we could be in the top six and I said if we lost the next three we would be in the bottom three. :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm Keep your chin up mate there is time for some canny signings yet.

I'd rather we got the right players in than just a lot of players in. De Fanti got loads in and remember how that worked out. If this Dutch chappie doesn't want to come it's because he's holding out for too much money. He might not have come for Bruce or MON, but I have no doubt he'd play for Dick, so I suspect he's being greedy or is on a cushy number where he is.

The window is still open for a good while yet and my hopes remain undiminished. I'll still be wildly optimistic at the beginning of the season - another triumph of hope over experience!

Knocking the club is such an easy game to play.

Bring in an overpaid money grabbing crock and we're gullible idiots being left behind by other clubs.

I'll happily state that I believe he could be the star player in our season ...... he's absolute class who got off to a bad start.

Dick should be in Sunderland or England getting these deals done, why go to the USA before signings are made ?, the Lens transfer is dragging on and that worries me, and we need at least one quality striker.
