Indeed. Lot of douche nozzles in the world I would literally prefer to watch back to back seasons of Sex And the City over Lost. I just cannot stand adolescent and amateurish writing. But lets not get back into that again.....my bad for mentioning it
In what way? I have to be honest, I have watched very little of Sex And the City. The American version of the office, like so many network shows, started off okay, but then outstayed its welcome. Shouldn't have got past season 3. Think its on like Season 9 now or something stupid.
sex and the city was muck... it was for women. the male characters were all stereotypes and the women were designed to be one of a type each. Plus the one you wanted to get her kit off even once had a no nudity contract so you got the one doing all the sex scenes and the other 3 being dull.
american v Uk versions: 1. UK shameless v US shameless.... no contest US win 2. UK 70's show v US 70's hsow... no contest US wins 3. UK inbetweeners v US inbetweeners.... UK wins, us was tragic 4. UK office v US office....... I think us wins but again only over first couple. what others shows have there been done like this?
no image there but yes the dark haired one that acted prim and ran a gallery. Total stereotype. there was ginger lawyer who work issues and stress.. another sterotype Blond slut who worked in either marketing or advertisements... and then the main character who was really annoying and bought shoes. I eman seriously... it was the 4 relationships that hook the women and the blonde sluts antics that allowed men keep their sanity... that and it was only a hlaf hour long.
Can't agree with Number 4 I am afraid. Uk Office was legendary. The other 3 without a doubt. The US Shameless is a masterpiece. The UK Shameless, again, should have ended much earlier. The Season 4 finale, where Karen married Jamie and they had the whole "Take That - Never Forget" showpiece, would have been the logical closure point. But No, they had to draaaaaag it on. US Shameless, I hope lasts forever.
Anyone catch the last ep of True Detective 2? Pretty good ep. Though I have to admit, I am having a little trouble following whats happening, and I would consider myself very good at following plots. Am more interested in the characters than the plot right now

Watched a bit of it and thought it was **** I don't like things being remade for other countries etc. If shameless had been done in USA first, I'd probably say that one was better.
The first season followed UK Shameless season 1 very staunchly. It was jarring seeing Uk Shameless being re-enacted by Americans. After that it became its own thing, and it was a revelation. Emmy Rossum and William H Macy are masterful actors.
I kinda see your point, US remakes, for the most, are usually ****ing turd. This is an exception though, for sure.
I can't think of any others that were remade anyway. but really.... I must say I absoutely hated brent. just can't stand him so while i get the whole concept and the send up I just can't enjoy it. which is why the us version worked better. US shameless was absolutely brilliant as the two characters were brilliant and totally believable in an unbelievable carzy place
