Does it matter? If he comes in, does the business and bangs in 15 goals would we care about being his 2nd or 3rd choice? I wouldn't!

 

Sorry mate, don't agree. It seems he doesn't want to be here. I'd rather have someone that does. That someone may give a bit more than he would.

 

Maybe it doesn't matter, but l for one would be happier to see some genuine want in our new striker.
We have endured far too many journeymen and freeloaders already. I want to see some desire and pride, not some namby pamby half arsed brat thinking he is doing us a favour by deeming fit to put himself out a bit because he could be elsewhere at a club more deserving of his huge ego. If we are 2nd best then stay away.
If that in any part is the case, he can shove his 20 goals up his arris.
I for one will not be grateful.

 

We aren't in a position to be picky though. We have to take any chance we can to bring in good players. Yes, ideally, I would love to have 11 Shearers or Guti's in our team but it just won't happen (in my opinion).

Anyone else ever wondered when everyone including the media go on about 50,000 Geordies at St James Park every week why on earth do the away team always have a few thousand Geordies in their end?

I don't see why we should expect him to want to come here more than any other club.

A local lad you might expect to have some regional loyalty but expecting Mitrovic to "want" to come here more than Porto would be like expecting, say, Colback to "want" to go to Schalke rather than to Valencia. Having a good look around before you make a choice doesn't imply that you won't put in the effort once you've signed on.

 

I think it's clear he won't be coming. The thing that slightly frightens me if/when this falls through, Austin really has to be happen as we aren't the club to have multiple back options due to the fact they are penny pinching ****s.

 

Think it is policy not to offer goal bonuses due to it being ...potentially ..divisive to the team..(that may of changed mind)

Also read that we are offering double what he is on at anderlecht . ..plus I'd imagine that the wages are competive w Porto or roma too ...Pl surcharge bonus

Not too fussed myself re wages...seem about good /right ish for a promising, up and coming 20 yr old. I'm sure he'll have yearky increases, appearance add ons etc

I think he will come, Roma are playing games with the Mitrovic family and I dont for a second believe that he wants to go to Roma or Porto and his and his agents preference is NUFC.

His brother has attended St James Park and there just appears to be games being played. I firmly believe he will be an NUFC player by the time we return from the US of A.

 

I read somewhere that everything is revolving around Edin Dzeko, he is first choice at the moment for Roma, however if Dzeko does not go to Roma they will turn to their 2nd choice - Mitrovic.
