Haha like the fee is very unlikely to be disclosed for a deal like this... My point is clubs say they aren't selling all the time. It's a PR stunt + bargaining tool. They'll sell if/when it becomes clear the player wants to leave + has a club interested in him. It's not nice but it's reality. Would imagine (and this is pure conjecture) that Villa say £32m in the press, please their fans and make Sherwood look authoritative whilst in the background try to ascertain Benteke's attitude and likely best deal with Liverpool or other parties. Would actually imagine Villa have sounded out other clubs on him to try and make Liverpool hit the release clause amount. Perhaps the source of the United link recently.
If Benteke is the kind of player Rodgers thinks will suit our style, then we will never see a repeat of the type of football we saw in 13/14 under Rodgers again. Benteke is a ball to feet/head player, no way around it. We should be looking for mobile forward who can play with their back to play and run on to through balls.
Exactly. Now consider that Sturridge is a crock, and that Origi and Ings are young and untested at the highest level.
I wanted us to sign Tevez but accepted it wasn't going to happen and it obviously didn't. I now want us to sign Pierre Aubameyang but equally accept that it is unlikely to happen.
Villa don't want to sell and don't have to... We'll be paying his release clause. You mentioned sterling, Suarez and Torres.... They were in same situation yes... And they were bloody expensive!
You should know I don't read your posts by now... also, don't you feel a bit dirty after agreeing with tobes... I know I do
benteke only has 2 years left... villa should hold out. IMO thats the only way to go. sterling had too much to lose and then played games. benteke may just hand in his transfer request and forego a bonus to move.
If they meet his release clause then there is no loyalty bonus... Villa have no say in weather he goes or not so can't force them to pay a loyalty bonus when they want to keep him
The point I'm making is that when a player asks to leave they usually get their way... which diminishes Villa's likelihood of holding out for the release clause. They may well hold out and keep an unhappy player (and fair play if they do) but release clauses aren't arbitrary demands. There's a deal there and it's 99% certainly being worked on by both clubs.
Sher wood keeps saying he's going nowhere and now he's referred to our pile of dross. How many do we need he says
I've finally figured it out. You're actually Chinese in real life but use google translate when posting.
hmmmmm... not the first ladyboy post today this.... worrying times on the LFC board. The sooner we move to convict land the better i think
please log in to view this image 3 absolute units. We won't miss sterling at all. Suuprisingly despite a rather nasty rain shower none need to report sick today either.
