    Last I heard, they were planning on opening an Aldi, a Home Bargains and a drive-through McDonald's.

    That pisses all over Willerby retail park.

    Home Bargins > Poundstretcher
    Aldi > Iceland
    McDonalds = McDonalds

    Waitrose is just for puffs and *****s.

    Willerby Retail Park now has a rather large B&M where Homebase used to be.

    It has to be said the new Aldi does have a Poundstretcher across road and an Iceland too.

    It also is literally 15 yards from 621 :bandit:<whistle>

    **** off! Their £4.99 wine is very drinkable.

    Also I've just remembered the old joke.

    'They've built a Tesco Express just up the road. I'm dead chuffed, it keeps the rabble out of Waitrose'.

    Experts today named discount supermarket Aldi as the best place to buy wine with some of its £3.99 bottles judged better that ones being sold elsewhere for £45.

    The budget supermarket was named the new wine retailer of the year at the prestigious Drinks Retailing Awards, beating previous winner Waitrose, and top drinks merchant Majestic Wine.

    The award, designed to celebrate the best wine merchants in the country, is the latest accolade Aldi has received for its wine range.

    Last year the retailer - which sells wine from just £2.99 a bottle - was handed 121 medals at international competitions.

    Nuff said.

    Can't dispute any of that. Trouble is, the way Aldi do their buying, once it's gone it's gone and what comes back is often not the same. I've tried Aldi several times but generally come away disappointed. And you can't take chances with £4-5 bottles of wine, if it's not reasonable then it's usually undrinkable!
