I've little clue what order the top teams will finish in. One thing I am confident about though: United will not win the league

Van Gaal was similar to Rodgers at Liverpool, except he had De Gea to bail him out. Other than that they both faffed around with 3 at the back and their sides looked poor other than in a handful of games. I think there's good chance they'll struggle next season.

Wow, surprised to see so many have us down for relegation!
Because you were so comfortable last year? Not predicting it with any pleasure, just the ability of Ashley to screw things up for you is too much. Not sure McLaren is much cop either. There are others I would rather see go down, but I think you are in danger.

I think that you're post-Pardew run will have influenced that.
I'm not expecting anything amazing from McClaren, but he's far superior to John Carver.
That's not saying much, admittedly.

A mid-table finish with some positive signs, in my opinion.
That's assuming that Ashley doesn't do anything ridiculous.
Which he probably will.

We were rudderless last year, Carver was an embarrassment. The same players had us comfortably tenth under an inadequate manager in Pardew at the turn of the year.

Not saying we'll pull up any trees, but with the signing of Wijnaldum, Mitrovic likely to follow along with another striker (Austin maybe) and two centre backs I'd be surprised to see us go down.

I reckon we'll be 9th-12th. I'd certainly have us above Norwich, Sunderland, Villa, Watford and Bournemouth.

It's early days and I think the predictions are a result of little visible progress so far. As it stands I think most people would say your squad's a mess. Lots of average players and handful of talents that are inconsistent. I don't think you'll go down as you always just about put in enough runs of form to stay above the relegation zone but if you don't sign some quality goalscorers this window I think you'll be in real danger.

Any news on Matip, is the deal dead? He would be a great signing for anyone.

Anyway, I'd like to formally withdraw my prediction of Stoke to do well. They've sold N'Zonzi and Begovic and brought in Glen ****in' Johnson since I made my prediction <laugh>

... likewise buddy ... having finished top of the whole shebang form wise over the last seven games and only losing to Chelsea over the last 10 there is no logical reason that we shouldn't kick on this season having 'acclimatised' ... for the record I fancy us to finish no lower than we just did ... 14th ...

Not sure on Matip, local press say there is definite interest. It'll probably come down to price. There's talk of 10m but he only has one year left to run on his deal. As you say, he's going to be a decent signing for whoever gets him so hoping that we're definitely in for him.

Feel free to add yours. Can't mock if you are too cowardly to make your own predictions?

United to finish ahead of Spurs. The points gap to be in double digits.

One of us or Chelsea to win the league*. City are buying poorly and Arsenal are Arsenal, if they get close, they will beat themselves down for it.

* assuming our signings click.

As for relegation, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Norwich.

We can all say "if the signings click" that's not a get out. So

1/2 Chelsea.Utd
3 City
4 Arsenal
10 Spurs? double digits probably puts us down mid table (although again that covers 10-99, so not exactly nailing your colours to the mast)

Who do you have for 5/6/7?
