The same fans who signed petitions against AV, who's club didn't support the WC bid and took great delight in the AV farce? What was that saying you all kept banding about? You're off to walk the dog to AV? Well my friend, I'm off to do some shopping at my new favourite store. I remember a certain poster on your site revelling in the WC not coming to England just because of our situation.
Oh well, Lan, I and others supported AV and I can only write on my behalf. If you want to drone on about how all Rovers fans were against AV, fill yer boots son, it doesn't make it true. It does seem to be a generational thing - the older ones tend to see the bigger picture with regards to stadia, the youngsters can't.
Well i'm one of those older one's, and well remember you, and a few, supporting us against the dog walkers Bluebaldee, but i also remember Mr Sparrow being the main culprit in supporting the nimby's and dogwalkers, like someone said "what goes around comes around"
Thanks to nimbys we in bristol have been deprived of 2 new stadiums, an arena (until now), a much needed tram, better rail facilities, the tidal barrier, and many new roads needed where I live.
Add in a proper international airport, concert venues, speedway track/team, cheap and reliable bus services. The abortion that is Temple Meads traffic flow. Take away the needless sets of traffic lights, constant roadworks with no one ever actually doing anything, roundabouts and refusal to back local teams and we might get somewhere. And as for the latest measure of spreading dust and gravel on roads instead of putting tarmac down, the bastards responsible want hanging when my car is covered in stone chips and dust. It was so bad last week there were pedestrians with scarves over their mouths and noses walking around.
'It does seem to be a generational thing' - Unwise to generalise. I'm another 'oldie' who echoes AD's comments.
Steven you can't expect people to be sad or anything like that for you gas heads when like others have said when the boot was on the other foot, took great pleasure in mocking us. I wanted your ground to go ahead for one reason, and that's big groups might play concerts in Bristol where's before every big act by passes Bristol due to transport links and venue. If you want to have people to take your point and stop shopping at Sainsburys then your on the wrong forum. If you want people to say, it's a shame for Bristol but **** rovers, then this is the right forum for you. Ps you're still a stinking ageing old grannies fanny
CJS deliberately put a link up on your site for the against petition and said he was putting there for reasons of fairness for those who were strongly opposed.. you can drone on about how you were all supportive all you like, it doesn't make it true! Some of us can remember back before the day before yesterday! I really don't know who you think you're kidding sometimes.. there are far more supportive reds on here than you deserve quite frankly, and certainly more than you mustered up for us, and yes I do remember that you were by and large supportive in between taking the piss!
Banksy : 'You have got absolutely no chance of building a Supermarket on the memorial Stadium. It aint gonna happen'. CJS replied :'i will save that and make sure i will bring it back to your attention when it happens' Has CJS heard the news ?
You misunderstand Tone. I'm only over here taking issue with Lan and Shiny saying that we were all against AV, when in fact there were a number of us who were supportive, signed petitions etc. As there are plenty of reds reciprocating now. I don't want you to take my point as you surely won't, neither am I interested in influencing your shopping habits - you'll all just carry on shoplifting from Iceland and Primark like you always do. And two more things: 1, I certainly can expect people to be sad over here, mainly because you are all sad 82ers. 2, It's Stephen. You limp, dribbly tramp's member who possesses an overwhelming stench of smegma, only slightly offset by your chronic halitosis.
Well bully for CJS......hang on, I can't seem to find my tiny violin so that I can play you a lament about his petition link.......I'm not CJS, so I can't speak for him. The point I was making is that some of us - obviously I never said or meant all - were supportive of AV. If you're in any doubt, read what I wrote again - it might sink in this time! You only live close to Waitrose so that it's easier to get to your job as a trolley boy.
Can I just say ................... we all enjoy banter, but ultimately we are all the same - we love a Bristol football team (just one red and one blue), In fact I assure you we have more in common with Rovers fans than the people who make up the Board of Sainsbury's Personally I get on well with the guys on the Rovers board and I was gutted that the decision went against them
