It's what most supporters do Jimmy. If you were put in an induced coma for a year or so and then released from it and you're asked 'do you support Liverpool?' - you'd answer 'tell me who the manager is and who's in the team and I will get back to you'. ?? I support the team come what may. Arguments are part of football supportership but 'blind faith' is what it's all about and the only thing I'd ever say that about [apart from my family].
I just don't like the way that criticising the team is seen as 'unsupportive'. You should be expected to challenge decisions in any environment. I don't want to criticise and it may seem like I do it all the time but that's cus pretty much every decision this club has made since sacking Rafa has been awful. Rewind a few weeks ago to when we signed Firmino.
Aah! He slipped my mind. Aquilani had a hand full of world class games but no one checked his fitness record before signing him. Did he even have a medical?
Jerome Sinclair not on the tour! What's that about? He looks decent and should be given more of a chance IMO.
18 years old 2 PL appearances 1 Championship appearance 0 goals Already causing problems Cut the prick loose #done
So everyone but Houllier and Rafa then Houllier spent £10m (equivalent to about £25m in today's market) on Diouf!!!
He is a poor signing but when you factor in price as well, Lovren and Lallana are worse IMO. You could argue Markovic as well but he was bought for the future so think it would be harsh.
Don't agree. There was element of risk to Lovren (and Lallana) but Mario was just throwing money away.
Houllier made some awful deals in the end... even Rafa's bargain signings were probably better. Diao, Le Tallec et all never mind Diouf. Think a lot of our transfer failings with Houllier and Rafa were down to Parry/senior management not wanting to risk big deals... Rafa in particular ended up signing so many players because he was forced into a scattergun approach for cheap replacements, squad fillers etc. We would content ourselves with maybe one/two big purchases a year whilst the squad was filled with no-hopers. This is what United, Chelsea, Arsenal didn't do... allowing them to just buy quality or improve specific roles. Unlike us, fighting fires every year hoping if we throw enough at the wall some of it will stick.
Criticism is fine. Never met a supporter who thought everything was great. We've gone through some pretty miserable stuff but you don't ever withdraw that support. Fans saying if so-and-so is signed I'm not renewing my ST - I don't get it. I fully understand the fans stance on lowering prices and measures they've taken over that like boycotting the Hull game but always looking on the down side isn't helpful or healthy - it gnaws away at you if you let it. I have had doubts about BR since he came - never been convinced but I don't moan about him at every opportunity. I made my point, people know how I feel about him, I moved on.
it should simply always be designed to have high standards and desire LFC to reach the top. thats all.. short term or long term
