    McClaren on the Gini deal

“It is important to get the first one over the line.

“Lee (Charnley, club MD) is smiling today but knows tomorrow is another day, and (it’s) hard work to get more players in.

“They have to be the right quality. Be have started with Gini (Wijnaldum) and we move on.”

My word they like this fecking line mind!

Seems the Mitrovic is an NUFC fan rumours have substance. Shame his dad rules with an iron fist.

Q: Which club do you like the most and which league appeals to you the most?
A: Newcastle and the English league.

It's well known that we are actually his first choice and that it is his dad that is linking him with Porto. Mitrovic wants to come here.

Shouldn't be a problem getting a visa. If the Home Office are going to deny him one then it smacks of hypocrisy.

Surely ashley can sign them up with minimum wage hourly based contracts at sports direct.. Give them a work visa. Have them come over on matchday to "work" then call in sick or something so they can watch him become a club legend.

I'll take 15 -20 goals a season as well, my concern was 1 season and then engineer a move away, contracts don't seem to count for much nowadays. But hey like a weather forecaster or politician I may well be wrong and he has 5 happy years with us banging in 20 a season :)

At the end of the day we are a selling club as are most so if we pay £15m, get a couple of years out of him at 20 goals a season then sell him for £25m that is a good move for everyone.
As a club we become more attractive as we perform better and then have the funds to attract a better standard of replacement.

Papers now reporting that a deal for 12 million was set to be done over last weekend, but now the player is stalling on the move because, wait for it, NUFC are not in Europe next season!
Really, surely Mitrovic and extended family knew that before now?
Not looking that promising anymore, but fingers crossed it gets sorted.
If it's a case he doesn't want to come and is having second thoughts, then maybe it's just as well.
Time to look elsewhere whilst there is still time.? Who knows
Feels a bit flat after the excitement of Gini.

You're right. It seems he's waiting for another/better offer from another/better team. Bollocks to him if he doesn't want to come. Plenty more fish and all that.....
