You have a bad outlook, who says Coq will be out injured? Is it a formality? Is it written in the stars? It's not set in stone for a player to get injured, what you do want is for them to play 40-50 plus games in a season.

And the summer transfer window has not ended yet, we might still get a midfielder, Shneid I'm afraid is not worth more than 25 million which what United reportedly paid for him, I mean common, more than 25 million for Shneid??????? We're going to pay that much for a guy who isn't guaranteed a start in the side? And a guy who isn't even worth that much to begin with.

No i'm not willing for him to get injured but the reality is most players will get injured, fatigued or off-form over the course any season. Even Mr Duracell Sanchez will have his dips and need to be rested, even if he insists on playing. Asking a guy to play up to 50 games and at a consistently high level is asking too much. Coqs first port of call is the Prem and Champions league, not the preliminary rounds of the domestic cups. The DM role is very physical and he will get knocks guaranteed. He will need to be rested during the course of the season to keep him fresh. Last thing you want him to get is fatigue related injuries.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. How can you not legislate for injuries??? Nothing is ever written in the stars. That's some crazy talk. Have we not learnt? 2013/14, we ran Giroud to the ground. 2014/15 we had no CD when Koscielny was hurt. Come on now!

I was thinking that about Schnied - while Man U have definitely filled a gap they needed filling, I can't help feeling that they've done the same this year that they did last year ie have too many players for the same position. Last year they bought 3 left sided defenders and had too many strikers, this year they'll have Schneid, Carrick, Schwein, Herrera, Fellani, Blind all to play two positions, while also having a fair few no10s in the team as well. Schneid isn't going to play every game as some of the others won't ever play, and £25m is a lot to play for a bit part player! It makes them kinda overloaded in midfield now, even if Carrick and Schwein miss large parts of the season.

Weve signed very different players for very different roles. You need to understand van Gaal. He likes a midfield consisting of a 6, 8 and an AM (10). He wants these players to be capable of switching/covering at times depending on whether we have the ball or not.

With Carrick, Blind and Fellaini he has options to change it. Either going more defensive or adding a different kind of attacking threat.

Its the perfect 433 midfield. At least on paper.

I don't want to sound like a hater, but you guys really need to get rid of Fellaini, ok I understand he does well and improved from his first season, but he just doesn't seem like a United player, or at least he shouldnt be, he's part of the remnants of that disaster Moyes era, get rid of him.

Yes but as far as I can see you'll be playing a 433 system - where you have Shaw, Rojo, Jones, Darmain as your back 4 (unless you sign Ramos - unlikely or Otamendi)

and then have a midfield 3 of Carrick/Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlein and Herrera, with Rooney as central striker (IMO not the best position for him), Mata on the right (again not best position) and Di Maria on the left. But that still leaves Fellani, Blind and one of Carrick and Schwein disappointed on the bench, not even in the team. But if he wants a AM (10) in the midfield then he'll need to put Mata (or Rooney) in the 3, and drop one of Carrick/Schwein/Schneid for him. Further congesting the midfield.

Legit question, does any Arsenal fan really believe Shneid was worth more than 25? Let's be real, that would make him what, our 3rd most expensive signing ever, just behind Ozil, and Sanchez? Common guys, give me a break.

We will play many more games this season and had horrible injury problems last year. This season we have addressed our biggest issue (cover/replacement for carrick) and have given us one of the best midfields around (on paper)

In today's market, yes. Is he really worth that, no! But this is the environment we have to work in. Even though I was one of the biggest MS to Arsenal cheerleaders, I'm not too upset that we missed out on him because there are other (cheaper) options still out there. He was #1 target for me, but if we want to be smart with money get the Sevilla DM. He'll prolly cost £15-£18M.

I told you already, once Arteta signed his extension, it meant no DMF was going to be signed. Yes, the transfer window is still open so anything can happen but I just can't see it.

We really had the perfect opportunity in Morgan: French, premier league ready, young with potential.

I'm really scratching my head at why we didn't buy him. We are competing in 4 competitions this season. Relying on Coq is going to come back to haunt us if we don't buy back up.

Sterling just went for 49million. Schneiderlin is a better player and was far more important to a side who are on par with Liverpool.

So yes, he is worth over 25million. Significantly more. Another bargain for us.

Weve spent almost what city have on sterling to bring Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlein, Darmian and Depay to the club.

True, Europa League is a lot of games, and very tricky considering having to travel to Cyprus on a Thursday. <whistle>

Sterling is English so that automatically makes him 20 million, he is English with some potential, that adds another 10-15 million, and he has played good in some moments, that adds another 10-15 million.

You can't never compare prices with English players, Sterling was bought for more than Sanchez! How much would Sanchez be now if Sterling is 49? At least 149 million!

In my eyes, Shneid is not worth more than 25 million, who knows even how much you paid, maybe 30 million even. With that money you could go for a Vidal, Pogba, etc.

Fair play to y'all for getting Morgan, but trying to spin it like it was a bargain a bit of a reach bruh. Can't be compare a flying winger to a CDM.

30million wouldn't by you the P in pogba. Rumours of 60million plus.

For one of the leagues top midfielders, 25million is a fair price. 40million for both Sch's is brilliant.

No you can. If like us, you had a near perfect record with your only DM (Blind was covering the injured Shaw) on the picth but collapsed all tp often when he wasnt playing, a dm is significantly more valuable to United.
