As things are right now with Bullard etc we won't need Greening anyway

What's more interesting is, Forest are also poised to George Boateng, Mclaren going for a boro reunited?

The Boat looked a bit clapped out at times with us, Forest are welcome to him, don't think his legs will have regenerated!

It's disappointing that we couldn't get Greening, but AP mentioned it was a wage issue with both him and Danns in the interview the other night.

I don't think Boateng is a good signing at all, he's well past his prime.

I would rather have Boateng than Harper. I thought in our relegation season he was fantastic but whether he can do it over a year on is another quesiton. But I would have taken a gamble on him.

    Why not?

Greening would be a shoe-in for the wide left spot where he played VERY well for Fulham toward the end of last season:

    Stewart........Bullard........Evans/McKenna...........Greening

What about Brady? I think we need some pace on the left as well.

What, so you would rather have an untried 18 year old Manchester United reserve than a seasoned proven Premiership quality player???

Greening is a class act and I'd never heard of Brady until this morning, so I think I'd be tempted to go with the former.

Is Greening interested in dropping into the NPC? He ended up at Fulham on loan because he didn't want to drop with WBA.

As a left winger? Greening hasn't played there a lot. He's better picking up the ball off the back four, the role Bullard plays when involved.

Yeah but Greening is a central midfielder not a bloody winger. I think McKenna and he do the same sort of job.

We could do with another winger, Brady sounds ideal.

I know I will get shot for this but I would rather some pace in the side instead of a playmaker on the left. We already have Bullard so I tihnk that they are similar so he wouldn't be needed. And I trust Nige with this signing just like with every other one, if he turns out to be like Stewart then we have a gem on our hands!

City Dont need Greening anymore. Brady for me. Pace is what City need now. Maybe QPR will move for Greening. ?

Greening can play anywhere across midfield, much in the same way that Danns can, I thought DQPR might look at Greening.

He's not what we need in a wide player. We've already got Koren doing a similar job. We've got a load of central midfielders, we're screaming out for something different.

True enough, we could really do to have some more natural wide players, though I hope we give Emerton a chance to show what he can do in the pre-seasons, I rate him and we've never really seen him outside of pre-season and reserve games.

Thought Emerton and Holohan both looked good in pre-season last year. Both too slight though, same as Devitt and Atkinson.
