So up front you will get £45m - 20% (sell on) = £36m then pay the loyalty bonus ?

That should leave you with just enough to buy Benteke at £32.5m and pay his agents fee. Everyone gets what they want so good deal for all concerned <ok> (and still 80% of the £4m add ons to collect if he hits his targets)

£49 Mil for Sterling is utterly bonkers. Also, got a feeling that the OX will outperform Sterling next season.

Also how awful are Real Madrid? Iker Casillas, one of their greatest ever players ushered out of the club through the back door. **** me.

It's going to be great watching the reaction Sterling gets when he goes to Anfield, :D. It's not going to be pretty at all.

Sanogo going on loan to Ajax on loan apparently. Being coached by Bergy will do him a world of good.

Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin for United - now they are rock solid in the middle.

They have gone and done their business before pre-season. Wish Arsebal would have done the same actually.

Am I the only one who thinks signing Schweinsteiger is a big gamble? I know they didn't pay much up front but his wages will be huge and he had a horrible season on the back of a nasty injury. If he can reclaim his old form then, obviously, it's a super deal but should he struggle then it's another Falcao.

Not a huge gamble as they've bought Schneiderlin. Schwein will bring a lot of experience and impact to the manure team, and they have enough midfielders to cover in various positions. What's more worrying is us not getting DM cover and running the risk that Coqs will hopefully play the majority of the season. As we've seen positive impact a very good DM can do to our team and what makeshift players can do too. We will suffer should Coqs be injured or off-form.

I appreciate that but they're still chuffing a large wedge per week on wages so you'd want to see some return on that. Technically Flacao brought experience to the team last season and we all know how that worked out... Meh, time will tell but personally I think Schneiderlin would have been enough for them.

I totally agree regarding Coquelin and want us to have cover (decent) to allow him to rest as well as injury insurance. In all other positions I think we've at least 2 solid options so I'd like to see the same there too.

I really hope we don't regret not going for Schniederlin. I think he would have been a perfect fit for our team. Coq is great, but as others have said if gets injured or fatigued / loss of form then we're back to relying on Flamini and Arteta.

Maybe we'll still go for Carvalho / Vidal but I get the feeling Wenger is not going to sign a DM in this window.

Reading Rio Ferdinands facebook message about RVP it sounds to me like he hasn't been happy since his first Utd season. He went there and won a trophy and played under SAF, but then supposedly took it really badly that ferguson left (it was obviously part of him choosing to go to Utd) and hasn't settled since.

It must be highly frustrating to think your taking a step up and to play under one of the best managers of all time, only to find yourself 10 months later playing under Moyes looking up the table at his former club. Then a season more and he's being shipped off to turkey having won no more trophies and become a peripheral figure after being overtaken at times by Falcao the failure in the pecking order.

Not that I feel sorry for him... Haha

I do feel sorry for players like Diaby and to a lesser extent Eduardo, Norman Whiteside and David Busst ect. If you'd sacrificed a lot and worked so hard to not only become good, but become one of the best in the world at something, then to have it taken away through no fault of your own, is pretty hard to take.

And I also feel that while footballers rape football, it's clubs and it's fans of loads of money and earn obscene amounts at the expense of the fans, it's not all one way traffic, as those footballers get obscene amounts of abuse from (some) fans in every stadium they go to, with threats to them, their family, their kids ect, while they can't give any abuse back without being plastered over the tabloid back pages and fined/punished.

True you can say that they earn enough so should just put up with it, but personally I don't think anyone should have to deal with that level of abuse on a weekly basis.

You'll need a bit more than a wet sponge for him, a brick perhaps? But i'd much rather JT be the first to roll up, not sure anyone would want to bother with anyone else...

What do people make of Ranieri signing for Leicester ?

Personally I think he could take Leicester up to the next level. They have got a decent enough squad and played some good football last season. Although whether that was down to Pearson remains to be seen. Ranieri has some pedigree, but managing Leicester will prove to be a different challenge altogether.
