Your solicitor is not there to help you make life decisions Fran, but there to get you out of trouble when you make your own life decisions
What is so annoying is how other people seem to have an influence in these transfers (Morgan, Lallana etc). First of all we have the conspiracy theory that is Roy Hodgson and now the French manager clearly making a statement about Morgan. It is hard to imagine us ever breaking through if we continue to lose our best players at such an alarming rate. We got lucky (black box!?) last year, can we continue to do so? Whatever happens to Morgan in the future I doubt he will ever experience anything like what we had here. A proper team on and off the pitch and a massive amount of shared success. I said the same thing thing last year about Lallana, Shaw etc, wherever they go, whatever they achieve they are just 'players'. Here for a brief and glorious few years they transcended that. Anyway, good luck Morgan
For his sake i hope so, but looking at your squad list. Schneiderlin. Schweinsteiger, Carrick, Blind, Herrera, Fellaini, Mata and more to squeeze into the centre of the park, i'm not so sure.
He was a damn fine solicitor. Got me the house, four times the offered settlement and I still get money every month (as my solicitor pointed out I had given up a good job and company pension to look after my baby). Helps when your ex is riddled with guilt.
Spider served us well for 7 years but its still a sod seeing him actually leave. There is no doubt that no matter how much success SFC have, we will always be small fry in the PL and modern players ( esp good ones that we develop ) and their god forsaken agents are all mostly going to use us as a stepping stone. Grateful that Spider stood on this stone for quite a while, but we cant escape the fact that he has been dying to leave for a some time now.
I feel as low as I did when Stevie Williams left and it is also proving very expensive for me as the very lovely Mrs Godders is on her fourth box of tissues. She is inconsolable. She is also talking about burning her season ticket in protest when it arrives.
More chilled after a second cup of tea...I am calm as long as I don't see him in a United shirt. I know from last year's experience that you eventually tolerate it....especially if they don't do well (Lovren), struggle to be fit (Lallana and Shaw) or hardly get played (Chambers). I expect we won't be so lucky with Clyne, Morgan and Toby. The difference will be this season is that we won't go into meltdown, but have some faith in the management. We may have to be patient...I think we will have a decent season, but I am not expecting the excitement of being in the top 4 for most of the season. I think we can trust the management to maintain our high standards and keep on plan, but we may have to accept that progress will be long term and we may zig-zag over coming seasons (without ever being relegation candidates).

Last season was pretty inexplicable really. Well, no, it was built on our defence of which we have lost three. So therefore, I'm with you Fran. If we can't score and we can't keep em out then we will not repeat last season. Fingers crossed the replacements can fill the gaps.
No doubt someone will post a picture of him in his new shirt. I never know why they do that. Do they like to see us all suffer? I think there should be a forum rule. No pictures of departing players in their new strip or you will have your typing fingers broken!
What pisses me off is hearing people in the media constantly talking about this, that or the other player who might be good for a particular club but never once saying who might be a good acquisition for us.
We played a lot of games without Morgan and Toby last season so I'm sure as long as Ron and Les bring in quality replacements we will be fine.
The grass is not always necessarily greener elsewhere, seems the same theme every time a player moves on to achieve 'ambitions and greater things', very often it seems that they become bit part players whilst when here they may well have enjoyed a full 90 mins, or at least 75 mins.. Maybe some players dont mind the reduction in playing time against financial security, dunno but of all the departures from this club in recent times how many have actually achieved their ambitions to the full..? I cant think of many other than Gareth Bale....
The only positive i can see from this move, apart from the fee, is that it might force us to adopt more positive attacking ideas through different personnel available. Some matches last season we didnt seem to have many ideas going forward, and i believe it was party due to 2 defensive midfielders.

I think he was astonished about last season and I'm sure he doesn't expect it to be quite as good this season. We missed a chance to vastly over succeed last season....strangely enough I think we will still end up about 7-9th but without the excitement...more steady and dependable. I hope we do as well defensively...a good GD is a wonderful weapon...think we can trust Ron and his team on that (even with a new defensive squad).
It's a nice touch by Morgan that, after claiming that he wants to leave in order to play in the Champion's League, he has actually joined a team that will be playing in the Champion's League.
