So that 5m from Ince was what? People seem to forget that whilst we still owe installments for transfers we also just received 60m odd for finishing 18th in the Premier League. All the transfers were done factoring that money in so I really don't see why there's so much of a funding issue.
Plenty of clubs have written theirs debts off. Leicester, for example. It's not pointless, as it allows owners to put a lot more into clubs. The point would be that he would be able to spend freely on a push for promotion if he then wrote that debt off as an injection of equity.
The Premier League was all received and spent last season, although there may be a small balancing payment due. The consensus seems to be we owe somewhere between £25 & 30m net on transfer fees with at least £10m of it due this summer. Even if the wage which ballooned to an estimated £60m last season is halved, which is unlikely then it is £30m this year and there will only be around £25m - parachute and FL commercials - plus the sponsorship, advertising, season tickets & retail which the current regime seems intent on decimating. If City turns over £35m net of outgoing transfers I will be amazed, and of course that is before any interest payments to AM. I think we are in for a tough time simply because of outstanding money and debt, and of course there ain't anyone queuing up to take Jela, N'Doye or Hernandez off our hands. Its the good ones that are going and I fear Brady will be next.
If other teams spend a lot more there's a decent chance they will finish ahead of us. The year we got promoted didn't we spend more than anyone else?
They probably will finish above us but at least the Allam's will get some of the money back they loaned the club.
This, with some other considerations surrounding abilities to do the right thing. Hopes of a debt write-off will be forlorn, of that I have no doubt. "It's the possibility of Allam trying to recoup his investment by stripping out the club that is the worst case scenario - but I can't see it happening." I think we must consider just how desperate he is to have his investment returned. I disagree about him not being petty and vindictive, as it is exactly those too poor facets of his character that made the name-change such a churlish issue. I could easily see them relinquish their dreams of immediate promotion as they will now have a better understanding of what they need to invest to stand a chance of achieving that. If they decide to run the club as a mid-table Championship team, reducing investment, withdrawing funds gradually over a number of seasons, selling some more of Bruce's stated 'must-keeps', then I could easily see them having a puppet management team that implements that policy and them standing back and letting it happen. Of course, Bruce would go, we might be lucky and get a cheap up-and-coming manager, but we would most likely struggle; the real danger is that, just as in the PL, their judgement is flawed and we drop down again, and then again ... ... but, over this period monies will have been removed, their financial exposure much reduced and the club shaped into to a low-cost option for some random purchaser to take a gamble. Not been there before, have we?
Well there are plenty on this board that wanted to go down to the lower leagues maybe they will get their wish.
Plenty have said on threads they would rather play lower league as long as allam pulled out now they might get that.

If he has any sense he will take money from the parachute payments for the next 3 years till he has his money back,does not invest anything then once paid sell the club for whatever he can get for the little bit extra once he has all his money back. Be careful what you wish for springs to mind,could get even worse a supporters trust could even run the club eventually people who know **** all made up of people who think they know everything.
My biggest concern now is that it appears that the club has gone into a state of paralysis, when you have Ehab stating 4 weeks before the new season he's going to take sometime away from the club, very little information coming out of the club, rival club's that appear to be stealing a lead on city in the transfer market, and SB more or less openly stating Ince was sold against his wishes it worry's me, I know this post is a bit on the negative side, but unlike some city employee's, I'm still hurting from last season, hopefully one or two good signing's will blow this negativity away. As for the owner's, I don't think this is the end of the war regard's the name change, I think it's just the beginning and thing's will get even worse with them if possible , roll on August 8th it's be a long hard close season.
I don't think you/we should look to the possibility of 'local businessman ready to step in and take the club on' Chazz. Allam already did this (or at least he pretended to - i.e. 'doing it all for the community'). He has succeeded in alienating a large section of that community - and not just the Hull City community. Indeed, the ramifications of the Airco 'smash-and-grab' are continuing. It would also appear that his 'I leave the football decisions to Steve Bruce' claims are a thing of the past: the Tom Ince business would suggest so, as would the exit of Quinny. Someone is making those decisions which were previously left to SB.
Could Allam house possibly call the loan in, the club can't pay so fold and write the the dept of against tax.
Why would expect the most hated man in Hull according to some folk on this board to put his hand in his picket again !!
If we got parachute payments on £60m a year, we'd be ****ing laughing. We actually get a total of £64m, spread over four years.
