Being a Leicester fan through to my heart, something like who will be our new manager gets my interest up to new levels. However I can’t help starting to get fed up to the teeth with this whole manager fiasco! It’s been going on for a while now and every day a different person is pushed down our throats by the bookies and the newspapers. I am sure the newspapers and the bookies are taking the piss out of us and making a bundle of cash on the side.

It’s about time the club issued a list of people they are wanting to interview so we all know it’s going to be most likely one from that list or are they just realising the person who fits the bill best as our new manager is the one they have just sacked?

It is clearer every day that this was spur of the moment and not at all planned. If you're going to make a decision like this, it needs to have thought behind it and people in mind. No plan and no direction

I agree that the bookies and newspapers are up to something, and making a bundle of cash on the way!

But, I do not agree that we should issue a list of people we want to interview.

    Why would we!?

Our owners haven't commented yet, and why should they?
Do you want them to come out and deny every single rumour that comes from these newspapers?

They're taking their time, yes, but how is that a bad thing?
I'm glad they haven't rushed into something like Steve Cotteril, just because he's there.

I'm reserving judgement until our new manager is actually appointed (and not just labelled "100% guaranteed" by newspapers and bookies alike.

They cant win either way. If they had kept Pearson in charge and shopped about for a new manager, then they would have been marked as dishonest.

The fact his sacking came swiftly after his return from break says to me that he had a bust up with the board on Mon/Tue and it would have been worse to keep him around while we found a replacement.

Im not happy how long its taking to get a new manager in, as the longer it goes, the more rumour circulates.

If we were in the championship, ive no doubt it would have been sorted by now, but as we are in the prem, they have alot more options in regards to managers and maybe their ambition is making them chase managers that are only interested in the top half teams.

Although i would have loved to have a new manager in place by now, in glad they are looking for the best target rather than the easiest.

Our owners are very private people and unlike many do not court publicity. Not rushing to appoint a replacement is not a bad thing. The two people in charge of training are the same as last year the people in charge of recruitment are the same it is just the figure head that have changed. The owners believe in loyalty and respect and perhaps have decided that the the management team we had was the correct one and our criteria for np's replacement is that they must fit into what we have rather than wholesale change in both playing staff and coaching staff. I support the club not one man but i do however believe that the current owners have not only put their money into the club they have a vision they are willing to fund both on and off the pitch, the future looks just as bright as it did last season despite this small hiccup. they are investing both on and off the pitch and if they felt they could no longer work with the manager for what ever reason then best to make a change, sooner rather than later rather than let it fester.

Just phoned the KP and asked if they could run the progress of the search for a new manager past the 606 Forum. They declined. Be patient, it will all get sorted in a professional manner.

Today's favourite is actually Claudio Ranieri, with O'Neil second and Lennon third.

No doubt it will be someone else by lunchtime.

Papers are saying we have contacted Marcelo Bielsa - that would be an amazing coup if it happens.

Also he is close to Cambiasso - was the Manager who gave him his first cap for Argentina.

Good post KP. I'm not sure why so many are getting their knickers in a twist. Of course we would all have liked this to have been resolved by now and the new man in the hot seat, but I can't knock our owners at all. They are ensuring they are doing their due diligence on all possible candidates,
Just because the media and bookmakers are throwing names around here there and everywhere, it doesn't mean a thing but most fans as usual soak it up like a sponge and believe every word they say.
I trust the owners and believe they will make the right decision...eventually!!!!!
Whoever takes over whether it be Ranieri, MON, Lennon, Preki,Schmeichel, will ultimately, whether we like the appointment or not( and let's face it, whoever we get some people won't be happy) will need our full backing. Excited for the new season. Bring it on.

I'm in the ..."why all the fuss camp" ... our owners are committed to ensuring our "success" ... for all we know they may well have contacted individuals on the short list; may even have held preliminary interviews / discussions already ... they have not let us down so far ... we are in the Premier League and Esteban Cambiasso was in our team last season ...just think on that for a moment ... it wasn't that long ago that the likes of Richard Stearman and Joe Buttock took the view that they needed to leave us to satisfy their ambitions ... players of their calibre are now way way below being able to saisfy ours ... a measure of where we have come from

I am cautiously optimistic that we will enjoy the appointment when it comes and that it will raise the club's profile even further ... personally I'm happy to sit back and enjoy the ride ... been a good one so far.

Joe Mattock, completely forgot that guy even existed!

    He is only 25 still.

But, recently signed for Rotherham, in the Championship...

Funny how things turn out, eh?

I'm with you - it is just that we are being linked with the like of Preki that is putting me on edge.
Would be my first choice but I think being at West Ham has burnt him out.
